PBP RIZIN 22 & 23 Aug 9 & 10 PBP?

Talking about how after Pride was sold to the UFC, he was not allowed to be in the MMA business for 7 years. He is grateful to the fighters, PR team and fans and is not going down without a fight.
Next cards will feature only Japanese fighters, for obvious reasons.

Mikuru Vs Boku and Kai Vs Inoue incoming.

That truly shows how powerful Sakakibara was with his pride fc promotion. The ever mma year for me was 2005 when Fedor finally fought Cro Cop and Shogun did the best grand prix performance in mma history

- Both Rizin 22 and Rizin 23 will take place at Pia Arena in Yokohama. It's a brand new 10k venue opened earlier this year. According to government guidelines, Rizin will be able to use half of the seats, so the maximum spectators for each event is 5000.

- First bouts will be announced on Thursday.

- Both cards will be entirely Japanese due to the travel restrictions.

- Mikuru Asakura will not fight in August. His younger brother Kai is in.

- Ticket prices are a bit more expensive than usual - VIP 100 000 yen, SRS 30 000 yen, 1st floor 20 000 yen , 2nd floor 25 000 yen, 3rd floor 15 000 yen , 4th floor 10 000 yen

- Events will be crowdfunded. The goal is 50 million yen. https://rizin-cloudfunding.lixve.jp/

7% crowdfunded so far, I guess that's ok since it just started

He was put out of sight for 7 years because he was toxic in the media world over there. Zuffa wanted make sure Sak's issues would never be held against them in media dealings. Plus you buy someone out of their business it isn't uncommon to sign disclosures that include you not setting up shop next door and competing in the same business. Pretty normal stuff.

Loved Pride's Gran prix's.

how much did they pay Mayweather again?

ok in all seriousness, there has to be Japanese athletes that can be used here. How about a BJJ match ala Quintet? Saori Yoshida wrestling match, boxing, muay thai etc... lets get creative guys

Have Pride, Worldwide Sherbros; the Dream is RIZIN once more

The UFC did a background check on Sakakibara after the deal was agreed upon. Why wasn't it the first thing they did before purchasing Pride? Sakakibara received a 7 year non-complete with millions paid to him, while Coker received maybe 4 years. Plus Sakakibara owned a minor league pro soccer team during this time, he wasn't exactly hiding.

Good start above!

BTW is it Ougikubo or Ogikubo? If it's the former I've been spelling his name wrong for a while now.
