Rival Loma Series

Hi all,

I’ve loved this site and the information from these section has been invaluable to me over the years. Ive created an account now because i want to talk about the new Rival Lomachenko Guerrero series they just put out and cant find any discussion of it anywhere on the internet that isn’t instagram.


Of most note are the gloves:

14 or 16oz Guerrero Sparring gloves.

Ive used the 10oz Guerrero bag gloves for over a year now and frankly, they’ve been the best gloves I’ve ever used. I’m dying for both of these, but the price is marking me balk.

Thoughts on these? Think they’ll release a normal, non-Loma branded colour way (and thus cheaper) option soon?

Anyone willing to risk THREE HUNDO on these sparring gloves (The pro series at $219 seems completely not worth it)?.

I too find the Loma line to be cool looking. But 200$ for fight/bag gloves and 300$ for 16oz fight gloves is a lot of money imo.

Better spend 100$ more and get some winning.

The Guerrero Sparring model will remain custom-orders-only.

The Guerrero D30 bag gloves will be a stock model in the future.

I've heard mixed reviews about the D3O Intelli-shock.

There was a discussion on these forums about that type of padding not being ideal for boxing gloves; since the hardening supposedly ends up spreading shock along the hands instead of really absorbing it.

I'm not sure how truthful this is, but another negative thing I've heard on here is that the D3O layer doesn't last long, and that once it dies down, you're left with a very hard layer of padding that makes direct contact with the knuckles.

But this was all in reference to the very first model of the RB10 bag gloves. There have been some changes since then that I do not fully know about except that the newest model has the better WristLock 2 velcro system.

Honestly I've heard more positive reviews sourced from multiple places beyond sherdog forums; so take your pick.

I would probably settle for the cheaper RB11 series, or even the RB1 series.

How has the padding held up in those 10oz RFX Guerrero velco pro fight/bag gloves?

Technically those are a pro fight glove, just the version with velcro, so I wonder how they've held up (since pro fight gloves generally don't last too long).

I have the HDE-F and not the SF-F ones, and have put hundreds of rounds in on the bag. They’ve held up remarkably well, only now feeling a little overly broken in. I’m a distance runner as well and am used to dropping ridiculous sums of money at least twice a year on shoes, so the cost of the Guerrero bag gloves over this period doesnt bother me too much.

10oz Guerrero w Intellishock bag gloves can be used on pads aswel?

No. If you use them on pads, they'll explode like grenades. They're strictly for the heavy bag.

Cheapest Rival gloves (RB7) are trash, never buy that
