Elite MW of the 60's and 70's, fought just about everyone there was to fight in his era. One of my first trainers fighters, Fraser Scott, fought him. RIP.

A definite all time great. He lived longer than a lot of pro boxers at least.

yup, 20+ the average for boxers. He outlive most of his contemporaries and even one of his successors, hagler.

I think Fraser Scott is still alive, the guy from here who fought Nino. He'd have to be in his 80's by now. I think Boone Kirkman is alive too, a seattle heavyweight. However, those guys might be so forgotten that news of their deaths wouldn't get a mention. I know that no one said anything when a local heavyweight who gave Marciano a good couple fights, Harry "kid" Matthews died.

Nino was an accomplished fighter. A former Olympic champ turned professional world champ. Even won the Val Barker trophy. He was a fine fighter in his day. RIP
