The sport lost a true legend last night
An A+ worker in the ring and one of if not thee best mic worker of all time
He was like a mix of Harley Race and Ric Flair but with real class
The only reason he was never NWA world champion was because he turned it down since he made just as much money in the AWA but with a much lighter work schedule

Rest In Peace Nick Bockwinkel

It is with a heavy heart the Cauliflower Alley Club announces that The Greatest AWA World Champion of all time and former CAC President Nicholas "Nick" Bockwinkel passed away Saturday night at approx. 8:40 pm due to health issues. We will have more on this later Sunday afternoon. The Cauliflower Alley Club, it's members, and all of Nicks fans & friends send their condolences to Darlene & the Bockwinkel family at this time.
The Bockwinkel family ask for everyone to respect their privacy at this time."

Bockwinkel is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, as well as a former AWA World Heavyweight Champion. Bockwinkel was also a part of a legendary tag team with Ray Stevens. In 2003, Bockwinkel was also inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame.

He was a great wrestler. RIP.

One of those guys who I had to retroactively follow because I wasn't alive during his prime, what a promo and technician. He would be over in any generation, him and Heenan were a perfect combo.

'Ask Nick Bockwinkel the time, and he'll tell you how to build a watch.'

Classiest heel of all time. Nothing but respect from his peers and fans. RIP.

I'll always be a huge Nick Bockwinkel fan. While I am saddened that he is gone, his last few years were pretty hard. He is at peace.

He sold fantastically in the ring. He was one of the great promo men. He was the slickest cool heel. He was a damned fine wrestler!

Rest in peace, hero of mine!

Bockwinkel is like Flair and Sting to me... I had no idea who they were until I found this board.

But he sounds like he was great at what he did. RIP.

pourin one for the Bockwinkel. RIP good sir.

Raising a glass to Nick Bockwinkle.

R.I.P.

Rip Nick Bockwinkel. I was not born yet when he was AWA champ but I saw some of his matches on old ESPN wrestling classics and on YouTube. He was a great heel and true world champion. A legend forever.
