A very sad day for boxing as the legendary trainer died today. Cause of death still unkown.

    https://www.worldboxingnews.net/2020/07/24/naazim-richardson-legend-coach-died/

He was famous for training Bernard Hopkins and busting Margarito with the handwraps.

Also sad for boxing as he had been trained by Bouie Fisher, continuing the old Philly training lineage. Hopefully there's someone who can continue to pass that knowledge on.

Damn, that really sucks. He had a stroke a while ago, and was told he wouldn't walk again, let alone train (IIRC).

Glad he got an extra decade+ doing what he did. Sad news none the less. RIP brotha, a true legend of a trainer

The sport of boxing loses another teacher. Not too many of them left... Most are coaches.

That's right. He had a stroke in 2007 and couldn't walk and talk for a while. He was back in 2008 for Hopkins vs Calzaghe.

Apparently he taught himself to walk again and rejected the doctor's offer of a walking frame, saying that would make him a mugging target in Philadelphia.

When I first came to Sherdog's forums I had a Naz quote as my sig. I'll have to dig it up. RIP Naz.

He always had the most badass quotes in the corner but there was actual substance to them. RIP Nazim.

That was one. He also had (paraphrased) "stab the dragon in the heart, then rip him around the sides."

I seem to recall him telling Shane to hit someone with a slippery fish at one point but that could just be myth.
