Not only do they wrap the hands with gauze and tape before hand they also stop any bleeding or swelling so that a fighter can get another round another chance at victory. Many fighters owe their wins to a good cutman, and Leon was one of the best. He will be missed by many.

Yes he was! What a lot of people don’t know is that he started boxing at the age of 13 and was also a coach and a fighter . He cornered many of the greats.

Old age. He was 86. He retired at the age of 80 from the UFC . Spent his last few years with his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren .

Can it even be possible that he doesn't have a wikipedia page? RIP Mr. Tabbs

It’s weird. Cut men are a significant part of fight world, but we aren’t there for fame or glory. We are there for the fighter. Most good cutmen avoid the limelight and don’t try to get camera time. I’ve worked televised events and it’s uncomfortable. The cameras are in the way ringside, and it’s a small space already. I’m not surprised there is no page. We don’t make the news and don’t look to.

His name and face have been on T.V. 40 plus years. Was very well known before the UFC was even founded.
