RIP Kevin Randleman: Help Raise Money for Family Expenses.

I I looked at every donation and not one single fighter has sent any money yet I find that a bit strange.

As of right now, Phil Baroni and Joseph Stevenson are fighters I recognize on the donations list.

Edit: Plus Couture's ex and a couple non MMA athletes on that list.

I have just never heard of Gofundme and it looks a bit generic but I went to the website it looks somewhat legit I am just wondering why they are asking for 50,000 dollars and I looked at every donation and not one single fighter has sent any money yet I find that a bit strange.

Yeah, they are legit.
And some fighters have. I know some wrestlers or whatever has, as mentioned already above.

The link was given to me by a commission referee, via text message on my phone, so I trust the source as 100% legit as well.

If you are really that concerned, you can either leave a small amount, or nothing at all. Maybe you could just post a positive message in the comments.

Whatever makes you feel better.

Oh you americans. Are these fundraisings the new form of socialism. What if some unknown smuck dies, who is there to collect money for them?

Socialism is by force.
This is a CHOICE. A nice choice at that.

You have a grieving family, with no income and a load of debt just dumped on them.

He died to entertain you. He put his body through hell, to entertain you. Time away from his family, damage and recovery periods along with long training times. Then he was under-paid.

It's not negative to ask for a little help when the main source of income has died.

Attention MODs,...

Is there anyway to include a raw link to the gofundme page in my original post?

I keep trying, but it keeps auto-pharsing the link and the gofundme plugin doesn't work on a lot of platforms.

For example, I am on this brand new, bad ass Droid Turbo x2, but the plugin doesn't work on this phone. Resulting in no way to click or follow the link.

Yeah, people really think that these guys are rich. This is why fighters are complaining about Reebok. This is why people fight for Fighter pay to be better.

These guys need to be protected and paid better. They are elite. The elite of elite. Elite workers should get elite paychecks. It's that simple.

Maybe they should take better care of themselves and not leave their families behind the 8 ball

No, because socialism has nothing to do with people privately choosing to donate money. Moron.

Thanks for the link, TS. Gunna look into it. If it's legit, I'm in.

He did that shit for a paycheck, not to entertain us. He deserves respect, but the phony altruism is annoying

No life insurance, I guess.

Yeah, so? If you appreciate what he did, throw him a few extra bucks. You may have bought the PPV once, and Randleman got a little of that, and then nothing again. How many times have some of us rewatched and enjoyed his fights? Why not give a little extra for all those times? Think of it as giving him a bonus for all the entertainment he brought us over the years.

Reading that makes me sad; cool to see fellow buckeye great Tommy Rowlands pledging 100 towards the cause.

Yeah, I got sad after I heard the bad news yesterday. Been praying and thinking about him. I always thought Kevin could have been so much better too. When he first came in, he was a beast ...I thought, well, we have our MMA Mike Tyson. His punches were explosive like Iron Mike. Then he was interviewed he did this straight up jump...his feet were like at the guys head...I just thought....dude, he is going to be a dominant champ cause he is just way too athletic then everyone. He looked like the best athlete to me at that time. I think he could have...perhaps if he was guided right and was focused ...he could have been so much better imo.

Dang 44...how sad man. Really always like Randleman. Cool guy and now I just wonder if it was more then pneumonia (can't spell). Dang...too young man.

I'm genuinely not trying to be an asshoe with this question, but can you explain how the circumstances of his death can be attributed to his career? Were any more details released regarding his heart failure?

I agree with Jay philips. Weird thing all around. If you take steroids like candy you should be prepared to die at a young age. Is it actually 15 grand to bury someone? Is the coffin made of gold?

A simple google search will reveal how expensive funerals can be
Are you from the stone age you idiot?

Kind of hard to take better care of yourself, when your job is being a freaking warrior, fighting the strongest humans on the planet.

Not to mention the amount of training he did, on top of the amount of people he trained that you haven't heard of. All of those sessions caused damage too.

The amount of money you also spend on other fighters, in order to help them.

A lot of you guys just don't get the life of a fighter or a coach.

HE did it for a paycheck, but they weren't the best paychecks.

The purpose was to entertain us.

So he basically killed himself, to entertain a snot nosed, ingrate.

Real cool of you to talk down to a dead Fighter. Does that make up for the fact that you can never be one?

I don't think anything more has been officially released about his death. Everyone here that was close to him, already clearly knows why.

The way you contribute it to his career, is to add up all of the stress his heart went through while fighting, training and healing. Compared to a normal person, his lifestyle caused quite a bit more stress and damage to his body.

If he had a genetic issue, then his fighting career most certainly accelerated his condition.

Apparently his family needs help with things. These guys kill themselves for our entertainment and they don't make enough money to handle these types of events.

Please support them in their time of need.

It goes straight to his family

what expenses? are these unpaid hospital bills or something? the page makes no mention of such. What is the 50k for?

would be glad to help, but would also like to know

If law school hadn't already drained me 20k i'd think about it, but i cannot. Anyways hope his family receives the correct amount of support for a proper funeral if they do in fact need it.

Sooo,...

You don't think a funeral is expensive?

What about normal bills?
His electric, gas, water, house, food, car and God knows what else needs to be paid.

His family needs these things paid until they can adjust and pay for these things without him.
