@Rvd Slmr good on you man. That's really cool that you're going and participating in history .
Wish you guys the eat.
Thanks. I did only half of the demonstrations, but I'm planning on not missing one now.
Wonder if any of you guys can get a patrion going for these protesters?
There is quite a heated debate about this. The government complained and pressured Leetchi (a French equivalent of GoFundMe) into closing several online fundraisers, such as for the epic boxer who punched a few cops. It's not even illegal, the French law only forbids you to do a fundraiser to pay fines, but you are perfectly allowed to do it to pay for legal fees, especially since the guy hasn't been judged yet and must be considered innocent until he's declared guilty. Leetchi will still give the money that was already raised to pay for the boxer's legal fees (but he won't get it personally, the excess money will be given back to the backers). Considering it was over 100.000 euros, it is more than enough for such a case so it doesn't change anything for him that it was stopped. It is still a bad and worrying precedent.
This is a lot of over time and injuries for some of the police. How are they holding up? They tired, angry, want to beat up the protesters what's up?
They threatened to go on strike in December and they got a raise between 120 and 150 euros a month the same day. Good for them, probably the fastest and most successful social conflict in France's history. The government was so scared to lose their obedience that they immediately yielded.
