https://twitter.com/danrafaelespn/status/627557292125372416 For Bradley's 147lb title. Fight possibly at the Forum in LA. Dan said last week the Rios/Brooks fight had fallen through.
It'll be okay. If Tim gets in trouble in the fight Atlas will just pull out his cellphone between rounds and call his kids and tell them they don't don't to eat anymore or go the college because Tim doesn't feel like fighting hard enough.
This is going to be a fun fight, and probably surprisingly competitive. Bradley might not have the power to really get Rios' full respect, so Rios will be pushing forward the whole fight. It could end up being a rough night for Bradley even if he wins (which I think he will by a wide margin) because Bradley gets excited and opens up when he has the opportunity for target practice (like against Provo).
Shit like that is why I think Bradley and Atlas are a questionable team.Bradley needs someone to get him to box more intelligently. Bradley has never lacked fire,he's lacked intelligence.
Smart or dumb he wins this wide. Rios can't handle movement and after all his wars I doubt he can handle a brawling Tim either. I see a late round corner or ref stoppage happening here. Fun fight though! I will be looking forward to it.
Tim Bradley is going to take the first 9 rounds, and then for no understandable reason he will decide to stand and bang and brawl with rios, getting floored in the 10th and 12th round. Bradley will once again, eke out a controversial close decision.
I can't stand Atlas. I almost hope Bradley loses so that HBO doesn't identify Atlas as some guru like they do everytime a fighter switches trainers and does well.
I'm sure Bradley gets dropped/zombie'd at least once. What's the deal with him, he started out with some pretty good ring IQ and it just keeps dropping more every fight
This should be an easy outing for Bradley. I think he fights intelligently. Probably feels a good night in the ring will warrant him 3rd shot at Pacquiao
You would think so. I hope he fights smart because he definitely doesn't need anymore abuse. I don't think they make sense together at all. Somebody with a calm demeanor, like a Virgil Hunter or Freddie Roach personality would make more sense. The more his cornerman yells at him, the more he loses his composure.
This is what i think too. He stopped working with Diaz and picked a guy who is pretty much the same thing.
I don't think this is an awul fight. Bradley looked bad against Chaves, then outboxed Vargas. Rios looked healthy and fit in his last fight, and blew Alvarado out of the ring. If Rios is at his best, he's not a step down from Vargas. Given how they've both looked recently, I think this fight is okay. But I'd rather see Bradley (or Khan, Thurman, Floyd, Pacquiao) fight Brook. What makes this so bad to you? And why won't anybody fight Brook?
ugh, wanted to see Brook annihilate Rios, but whatever. Easy Bradley UD, though he'll probably fight dumb like he always does and make it harder than he needs to *sigh*. I thought he was supposed to fight Sadam Ali?
Good call on JDJ. He seems like he has the temperament to be good for Bradley, and a good style also. I think he is a trainer that we are going to be hearing a lot from in the post Roach/Mayweather/Richardson/Hunter era.
That would be an interesting pair. Atlas is nuts. The last couple of interviews I've seen with Bradley didn't look good at all. I wouldn't say he is slurring his speech like Mosley does but you can see the beginning of it now. Last thing he needs is a blood and guts you aren't trying hard enough type or trainer. Especially since Bradley's skill set has always been based on decent speed and footwork with counters rather then any kind of impressive power. For him going to war doesn't make fights shorter it just means more punishment over the 12 round distance.
Not sure it excites me from a contender standpoint, but I will watch and it has entertainment potential, actually.
I would pick Ronnie Shields or Eddie Mustafa Muhamad for Bradley and see how that goes. Those guys both get their fighters to box more.
This would be a great option.. Brother Naseem really know how to work to his fighters strengths....while dispensing with the weaknesses.
