Ruziboev looked pretty bad in his last outing, no doubt due in large part to a decent step up in competition alongside the mind-boggling decision by himself and his team to cut down to Welterweight despite the fact that he's already a pretty big Middleweight who has historically enjoyed considerable success at 185 whilst having a shaky regional record whenever he tried to make the cut to 170.
Rinat looked like he was going to be something at 170 with his smothering chain-wrestling, top control, and heavy hands... but he seems to have run into a wall with the Top 20 guys. There's a case to be made for him losing to both Zaleski and Dalby. I still think he's a problem for a lot of dudes in the division with his style, but I don't think he's the terror he initially looked like.
If this was at 185, I'd favor Ruziboev stylistically... he's actually shown a pretty dynamic bottom game at times rolling for submissions and sweeps off his back. And on the feet, I think his larger frame and long-range weapons (straight punches, kicks) would be telling against Rinat who likes to load up on looping punches. However, at 170 it's really hard to trust him. He is there to be taken down, his gas tank suffers, and I suspect his durability does, too. I think Rinat will grind him out on the mat, against the cage, and potentially land some big shots. It'll probably be competitive though.
No idea why Ruziboev insists on doing this to himself. He didn't even lose at 185 before moving down... he was on like a 9-fight win streak at weights above 170 and abruptly decided "Nah, fuck this."
