Economy Right wing economic theory BTFO again.

That's a good point. For decades and decades the right has pushed for at-will employment and corporate deregulation. Now that this has resulted in them getting fired for politically incorrect speech and conservative media figures being supposedly censored they are frustrated. But that hasn't led many of them to rethink their policies as a whole, rather a subset of them want simply to narrowly introduce regulation to protect them from being fired for not being PC and to force what they see as left leaning tech companies to platform their views while maintaining a generally unregulated corporate environment and keeping the balance of power in favor of employers over employees.
Yeah, the answer to society's problems is clearly not to have as little government as possible. That sounds good to people who are so well off that the government only gets in their way, but a lot of those small government/libertarian types greatly overestimate how much of their success came from their own talent and hardwork, and underestimate how much of it came from being born into fortunate familial conditions and the government at least somewhat curbing psychotic corporations from swallowing up and enslaving society.

We've been using the terms synonymously. Are you saying that the study shows that non-MW workers are losing their jobs with a MW hike?

Really not getting your theory of inflation. What difference would the incomes of workers or consumers make?

You brought up a massive MW increase. That's nothing to do with anything in the thread.

No. I am asking if this study shows that MW hikes do not cuase inflation on goods that people making MW buy. I do not think it does.

The Nobel committee gave the Peace Prize to Yasir Arafat, a terrorist who died of aids, and Barak Obama, an ass clown from Kenya who was just starting his failed Presidency.

They used to have credibility, but after the Obama thing no longer.

It isn’t just a rise in prices, hours get cut for workers too in some cases.

Employers know how to get around the MW now.

Wait, this was done in the 1980s and this guy thought the award was a joke?

Wow so earth shattering.

Basically the article states that it can lead to issues if we lack social safety nets.

One potential approach is to couple any minimum wage increase with additional mechanisms designed to ensure consistent schedules and adequate hours while avoiding placing a major burden on employers (since that can lead to job losses). For example, five cities and one state have passed comprehensive “fair workweek” laws since 2014. These policies mandate that employers provide workers with greater stability and predictability in their work schedules, and in many cases, they also require employers to offer part-time workers the chance to increase their hours before adding new staff. The specifics of how such policies should be implemented and a comprehensive analysis of their effectiveness are outside the scope of our research, but there is evidence to suggest that they may improve both the well-being and productivity of workers — so we would argue that they are certainly worth careful consideration.

Everyone is against min wage going up cause while it is going up their own wage isn’t going up at the same rate. Give everyone an equal raise rate and everyone will be happy.
