:59 for a close up of the song

Fuck that noise. Long live the Hitman.

hatton probably has the best fans of the past 15 years

They were doing that stupid Hatton Wonderland chant just before Hatton got dropped the first time. The way it just stopped was awesome.

piss off, that chant was awesome

Song was wank and a reworking of a common football chant at the time. Total shit.

Was definitely fun to be a Hatton fan over here when he was on his run, you could actually talk to people about boxing...

and Seano, wot u on about m8?

It was stupid and annoying.

Hatton Wonderland... GTFO.

Its a football (soccer) song, as a matter of fact, all the songs they sung were football songs.

His traveling support was great, for the amount that travelled to support him, but at home, pretty much every name British fighter gets the same support/songs.

I think alot of fans over here loved him because he is a very charismatic fella as well as being an all action, exciting fighter, but we do generally tend to back our own (with teh exception of khan and Fury?). personally I think he overacheived based on his technical ability and as a fighter I will alsways have plenty of respect for him

Best fans of all time. It was impossible to dislike Ricky Hatton.

He fought his arse off as well, Floyd was panicking in those first few rounds, he had never and still hasn't seen footspeed like that from any other fighter.

Hatton 101. Get on inside, throw hooks, hold, wait for ref to split. Rinse & repeat. Most of his fights were clinch fests.

I mean, he was aggressive, but I wouldn't call him exciting. He had some good fights, but I wouldn't label him an exciting fighter, especially not at world level. He's not the kind of fighter I would tell someone to go watch to convert them to boxing, he was a spoiler, he basically tried to stop the oppositions offense by constantly clinching.

I actually rewatched the Hatton-Mayweather bout recently.

Now, as anyone who follows me here knows, I am no fan of Harold Lederman and pretty much disagree with his entire reasoning. But something leapt out for me.

After six rounds, Lederman had Hatton up 57-56... and that's including the point deduction. Of those opening six rounds he thought Hatton had won four (although one was 9-9 due to the point deduction). Now, the official judges had it very differently but that's not really my point.

When was the last time the unofficial scorer for a TV network broadcasting a Floyd bout had him down on the cards at the halfway point? Any network, any bout? Hell, when was the last time Mayweather was down on the unofficial cards after four rounds, let alone six (and a point deduction)?

when Hatton got stopped

Now your trolling act has evolved from the subtleties of rustling the jimmies of Pacman fans to insulting the best following a fighter has seen in recent years. Come on man, lift your game. Especially when Pacquiao and Bradley are due back soon.
