Reyes Gloves - $100

Thinking about getting these as my Christmas present. Anybody have opinions on this particular pair and do you recommend for sparring? Is the price good as well? I am assuming so as i have seen some good deals on this site before.

I saw these. I only have $60 right now :icon_sad: I'm saving it for triumph's new headgear but those are cool.

I am not sure I would get these to spar. Have heard quite a few complaints about sparring with them. These would work for double end bag work, light heavy bag stuff, and pad work. The super bag gloves are really good. I ordered a pair and hopefully will get them soon. I have found Reyes gloves to be fairly difficult to track down this time of year, however.

Those are very nice gloves, and that is a very good price. They are an all-purpose training glove that should take a little while to break in, but should last for a really long time. Although the padding consistency is dense compared to most other gloves on the market, like someone said, they are not the most partner friendly sparring gloves, but then again they are not a pure sparring glove. They are definitely nice gloves for a very nice price.

Also, while I appreciate you're trying to appeal to the people who believe the ones from the mexican market are superior, I'll say that I have Reyes gloves and they have the imprinted logo on them and the tag also says the same thing. Made in Mexico by the Reyes Industria etc etc, manufactured in goatskin and/or head leather. And they look just alike.

I keep looking at your photographs. So damn good. Great pictures. Make me drool over them...

Not biting... I love the sex appeal though. :D

Wonder if the hand compartment is as monstrously huge as it is in the special edition gloves.

My new 16 oz black reyes come in the mail tomorrow. Next month I will get the matching groin and headgrear. most people don't have match set.

my hand is long, but thin. I'm a tall skinny guy. There's less than an inch of space in the hand compartment with my hand in it. Not too big if you ask me. It's actually a decently sleek glove.

This might be a little off topic but is elitemma, boxingdepot and mmahq all from the same company? Kinda like ringside and combat sports?

Glad you guys liked the technical pics. We've done mostly lifestyle pics in the past.

i dont need anymore gloves..but fuck i want these

I just got a set of the Reyes super bag gloves. I only had a chance to work the double-end bag for a few minutes, but, these gloves are top notch. The leather and workmanship is really good. I got the Mexican version of the gloves--not sure what the difference is--but they are really top notch in quality. If you have the scratch this time of year---GET THESE GLOVES. They are totally worth it.

EDIT:
Well I used them a bit more and I have to say that I love them. Really top quality.
The hand compartment is a bit tight. I bought 16oz super bag gloves and have 9.5 inch fist cr.
Keep that in mind though. I think those boxers with really long fingers might have a hard time with these. The fit is tight; no matter how big your hand is. The thumb is weird too. I don't know how to describe it, but, it may be tough getting used to.
I got these as a gift, but, I would definitely buy them. I just did about 30 minutes on a bag and I think they are the best gloves I have used.

Like I said before; these gloves are very well made and worth every penny.

I just realized that the hand compartment is huge. So heavyweights and such should feel confident using this product.

wait is there a humongous difference in quality if you get it from Mexico as opposed to Ringside?

I actually don't know...I have heard that though. I think it may just be a rumor or whatever.

They're just different models. It's still Reyes so there's really no difference as far as quality. They might look different, they feel different, but they use the same materials.

I agree. The gloves I got are a different color than the ones I saw at various dealers.

if you want the real deal reyes go to lockwoodsboxing.com . On reyes website they are listed their exclusive dealer in the U.S. I have ordered multiple times from Mike and he is a great guy to deal with. The quality of his gear is outstanding and he has everything they make.
