Monster vs monster. In a world where heavyweights throw 20 punches per round, a Samoan and a Nigerian came together in Vegas to show the world that some heavyweights could go into the ring and never stop throwing hard punches round after round after round. In a match that I still can't believe was made to this day, two heavies that looked like they had the future in their hands were pitted against one another during a formative time in their young careers. They went in different directions later, but this night made it look like the future was gonna be something different than what it eventually became.

Great HW fight. I had Tua winning with bodywork but it was a close fight. We've talked about Bowe recently but Ike is probably the biggest waste of HW talent ever. Too bad the guy is crazy.

You scored it for Tua?

I seem to recall that a lot of people thought Tua won that fight.

watch this fight with no commentary and score it

i had Tua winning like that, i thought he just landed the better shots

both guys were extremely overated because they were tough and could punch, neither of them could box very well

If they cant box theyre overated?

Sure they didnt box but it wasnt theyre style

The Tua that Lewis clowned back then was unmotivated, infact I feel that war he had with Ike took a lot off of him

Ike was never the same after this fight. Wasn't long after he raped a hooker. How you do that I'm not sure, but he managed it.

I don't think Tua was that badly affected. He was just not very motivated, was forced into the sport by his father and has always had a life long love affair with fast food.

Wow feel old realizing this fight was almost 20 years ago. Scored it again and had Tua winning but there were some close rounds and the fight could have gone either way. Ike started very strong though and I gave him the first 4 rounds.

I thought Ike boxed very well he just didn't have the discipline to stay on the outside.

He regressed after splitting with the Duvas. He wasn't in championship condition by the time he fought Lewis. Lewis vs Ike seems like it would have been a better fight but I think Lewis would have broken him mentally and stopped him.

Most guys who are big punchers get overrated by fans.

I haven't watched it in a long time, but remember that I scored it for Tua in a close fight. What ever happened to Ike's comeback?
