The opening minute, especially the first 30 seconds..Brock was doing great with knees and punches. Control Cain against the fence for a minute and took Cain down two times but couldnt hold him there. Then he was just gassed and it was a downward spiral from there.

I thought he was going to win all the way until dance dance revolution then I knew he was in trouble.

yes brock def did good the first minute, then got wrecked.

he started mma too late, his striking looked so awkward. he is a monster of a man though. those viking genetics

That back hand fist was hilarious. He threw that out of pure fear against the cage.

breakdancing can be very taxing I'm not surprised he gassed out

Gassed is not the same as rocked. Brock had more than a minute in him, he just couldn't take the punches.

Actually, if you watch the fight, he was spent after the grappling exchanges. Haters gonna hate.

He didnt gas and was doing well for the 1st min....and then Cain dominated.

So a guy who's been wrestling his entire life is "spent" after a minute of wrestling?

Nah he just realized he's in trouble once Cain got up n panicked

Yeah, Brock was a beast but Cain kicked his ass pretty handily. Brock took him down but Cain popped right back up.

Cardio is quite possibly the biggest advantage a guy can have in a fight, especially at HW. Everyone in the division could hang with Cain if they had his gas tank.

I believe just prior to his cartwheel, he gets rocked going for a takedown. Cain's against the cage, and Brock goes for a double, and gets clipped on his way in. It's kind of hard to see, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. After that, it was all downhill.

How low are your expectations for a fighter when scoring a single takedown resulting in no significant control and not getting immediately smashed on the feet constitutes doing "really good"?

I wanted Brock to win badly but he was never for 1 second doing "good."

He didn't gas. He got caught shooting in.

The 'break-dancing' everyone ridicules is a guy who's hurt badly trying to stay in the fight. He also comes very close to recovering at least twice and gets caught again and again with precise knees to the face and hard shots behind the ear for his efforts.

Brock looked good in the fight while he was in it. He just fought a beast and then lasted long enough after being hurt badly for people who hate on him to intentionally misinterpret and misrepresent what went down.

It's exactly what happened. And as much as it was all down hill from there, he didn't look nearly as bad as anyone else who fought Cain, with the exceptions of JDS and Kongo.

(In before someone looks at Cain's fight record and points out that Rothwell and Stojnic made it into the second round as evidence that their bell to TKO beatdowns were better performances than the guy who kneed Cain in the face, caught him with a couple of hard shots, and took him down.)
