Is it just me or were Rogan and Goldie really really bias towards hominick in this fight. Jose Aldo is displaying some phenomenal head movement but all they keep talking about is Hominicks jab.
It's only natural when you have a fight with lopsided expectations going in. Aldo was supposed to run through Hominick, but Mark fought very well and had as much success against Aldo as anyone to date. Basically everyone already knew that Aldo was great, but they didn't know that Hominick could put up as good a fight as he did. Very similar to Shogun vs Machida I.
See Hominick vs Yagin, Yagin put it brilliantly. Something along the lines of "Hominick's **** in his mouth" or something.
Yeah during the Aldo fight it was the worst ive ever heard it from Rogan. He would not shut up about Mark's handspeed, while failing to mention even once that he was barely landing in the early rounds thanks to Aldo's obscene head movement. I had to mute that fight.
I was sitting in Hooters begging the refs through the TVs to stop the fight. If Aldo had landed a big elbow or something to that it would have been a narsty mess.
Joe Rogan has a tendency to overly praise an underdog who is doing better than expected. If fighter A is expected to get killed but does decent enough to hang in there (but is still losing the fight), Joe Rogan tends to go nuts about how fighter B is not implementing his game, and how good fighter A is doing great even though he is still losing. I am not trying to bash Joe, because I think he does a good job; this is just constructive criticism.
Yeah you can totally tell when they have money on the other fighter lol. It was bad, kind of like Chuck v Rampage bad. Joe yelling "Boom" when CL would throw a punch but it hit nothing but air. Oh well still pretty good commentators, was starting to hate Goldberg but it seems like he has calmed down a little bit these last few events.
I wanted to see it BUST to be honest but I was shocked they didn't stop it. He had a freaking baby on his forehead.
Rogan's commentating was ridiculous in that fight. "He's outboxing Jose Aldo right now." Aldo slipped 3 or 4 punches from Hominick when he said that. Great fight though.
Yagin shouldn't be too upset. Hominick made him look like shit in the 3rd and probably would have finished him with another round, but who cares, Mark is now retired, wtf does any of this matter, unless you are a Aldo nuthugger and can't come to terms that Hominick exposed weakness in Aldo's ability to handle the deep waters.
he was in control until the the last 2 minutes of the 4th round.. he gassed and everyone's last image of the fight was Hominick with top control. I don't think anybody in the crowd was shocked at the decision.
i remember it fine, thanks. aldo knocked hominick down several times with strikes, and he also took him down at will and battered him with gnp. i don't know which version of reality that's "struggling".
