    1st was easily Reyes

    5th was clearly Bones

2/3 was Reyes by a close but comfortable margin

4th Bones got hurt prolly the most hes ever been. A right hook and left straight both stunned him bad and had him retreating with his back against the cage and he panic shot later. Reyes did more damage that round but Bones getting the TD (that Reyes got immediately up from) and this is the round where octagon control prolly matters as Bones bridged the gap later in the round but Reyes still had shots but was getting walked down

Jon left Dominick bruised, bloodied and crippled

Refreshing to see that the judges were competent enough to recognize damage and octagon control as the deciding factor when the stats were near even.

Great performance by Reyes, but he lost. It was a close fight though

Sadly, Jones is always better in rematches and Reyes will get finished the second time around

Maybe not this Jones. He might not be that same guy anymore.

What happened with the first Jones vs Gus fight then?

Visible damage does not tell the whole story.

Reyes needed to beat the shit out of Jones if he was going to dethrone via decision

    it just wasn't there imo

Reyes didnt do nowhere near enough. Jones did. People forget Jones has had many fights now and fighters going against him are able to pick up on fight data from previous fights to try things against Jones that will work.

It wasn't the best fight ever but that goes to show how much better the competition is now.

It was a close fight but it was round 2 4 and 5 for Jones.

OK BUDDY. I had Jones 4-1 in a comfortable victory.

Reyes fans have to deal with the loss to Jones.

Jones fans have to deal with the loss to Hamill.

    Both are official losses.

Exactly 1 min into the 4th I thought Jones was going to lose for sure, but Reyes gassed and Jones fought back to win that round and the 5th.

Still think Jon lost 3-2, but Reyes had his shot to seal it in that 4th by at least dropping jon.

Jon had a higher statistical advantage over Gus compared to Reyes over Jon.

plus, he had octagon control and much better accuracy than Gus, including hurting him bad in the championship rounds (4, spinning back elbow) when it mattered most.

Except in this case, because Jones lost that fight too.

And to be fair, Rayes looks better than Jones.

But I do agree with you.

1st and 5th rounds were the obvious. 2nd through 4th were close enough for different reasons and open to subjective scoring . The sherdoggers with their " scoring criteria handbook" in their back pocket need to simmer the fuck down.

It comes down to this - for the 205 strap in a very close fight, The champion carried himself like a champion should in the 5th and deciding round. The challenger did not .The champion retains title but a re match should be on deck and we'll see who adjusts to what. Jones history of this ( adapting to his mistakes.......in a win) is one of the reasons fans and colleagues call him the goat.

Pity the same judges weren't judging his first fight with Gustafsson, Alex's damage would have won him the fight easily. Jones couldn't walk and looked like the elephant man.

The media scores were in favor of Reyes by over two to one. Everyone without Jon's balls in their mouth saw who clearly won three of those five rounds.

I don't care who's champ no champ should lose his belt to any contender who did just enough to win, and Reyes didn't even do that. He put in a damn good fight for sure and pressured Jon in spots but not enough spots in my opinion for the majority of the fight it was Jon in control pacing the forever moving and dodging Reyes with pressure. If Reyes was the one pacing down a back peddling Jon then I could understand him losing the belt, but he didn't he chose to counter, back pedal, and burst fight in spots, he fought real good but not good enough to take away a long standing champs belt.

If fanz gotta break down a judges scorecard to find a victory for the contender, then your boy didn't win this why they always say "Don't leave it up to the judges" especially in a championship fight the champ will always garner favor on the cards by default.
