This will probably start a war of words between many but I just finished re-watching the fight. How did two judges score it 4 rounds to 1 in favor of Condit? Am I the only one that thought Diaz won the first two rounds then possibly the fifth? Condit may have landed more in a few of the rounds but if you're always stepping backwards while landing, your shots aren't going to have much behind them... which I feel was proven that very few times throughout the fight did Diaz back-peddle as a result of a strike. On the other hand there were numerous occasions in which Condit had to. I really don't see how Condit won four of the five rounds on two of the judge's scorecards.

Actually, striking while your opponant charges you creates the most power.

Because they are trained and educated on the judging criteria and you aren't.

I had Condit winning at least 3 rounds

You have to look at the judges who scored it that way: Cecil Peoples and a woman judge.

Many people thought Diaz won rounds 1,2,5.. but those judges thought Diaz only won round 3.

This fight shouldn't be revisited at all.

I'm not angry about this fight, just the fact that this will probably blow up into a bunch of nonsense from both sides of Condit & Diaz fans. It will never end.

I'm outta here.

why why why why why do people still make these threads?

When you have Cecil Peoples and Mazzagati involved in the same fight you know it's not going to end well.

Man forget the decision, did you ever thought why Carlos fought the way he did?

It's weird how many Sherdoggers love to rip on bad judges like Cecil Peoples, but for some reason, in a controversial close fight like Condit vs. Diaz, they don't think it's weird that they AGREE with a horrible judge like Peoples.

When you win one of those, you get to keep it for the rest of your life, including bragging rights:

Of course, you get to keep those too:

But the bragging rights are just not the same, nor are the financial compensations...

I have to agree. Plus aggressive and cage control/defense is a criteria
