So, things are slowly, but surely, heading towards normalcy...

Restaurants will soon be opening their doors, including my most favorite Chinese restaurant EVER! The same restaurant I haven't been to since the start of this pandemic, 02/05/2020, to be exact. I had my usual General Tso's Chicken plate, no rice. I may have gotten Salt & Pepper Chicken WIngs, too, I can't recall.

I had stopped going because I knew for a fact that many, if not most, if not all, of the cooks were/are illegal immigrants. And, if you know anything about what goes on at/near the border, Chinese illegals, and Chinese nationals requesting "asylum" come in droves on a daily basis. Granted, they probably left China several months before they even set foot in the U.S., but still...

So, with things tentatively returning to normal, it'll only be a matter of time before I must return to this establishment...the problem is that I'm not some faceless/nameless patron there...the owner, who's there on a daily basis, knows me very well, to the point were he doesn't even hand me a menu anymore, as he knows exactly what, and how, I order!

Sherbros, many of you are extremely clever...

How do I save face when I return? I can't just send my Wife, because he knows her, too! A facemask won't work, because he knows me so well, he'll easily recognize me!

I need your help, Sherdog!

OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER: I am NOT hacist! This thread is NOT meant to bash any group of people, culture, country, etc. I'm Mexican, and I tend to stay away from most Mexican restaurants because I know who tends to work in their kitchen.

Name, AV and opinion doesn't match interests and ethnicity...is the news telling fibs???????

Good thread. May make one similar about Subway when that re-opens (UK).

Just say you had diarrhea and you were quarantined to make sure it wasn't Covid-19. Also, pics of General Tso's Chicken plate.

Why don't you wanna get recognized? I don't get it. Also is the restaurant in the dark ages? They cant do uber eats or something? ONE MORE THING! You don't get rice? Are you from this planet?

That looks delicious and no...say you had it for two weeks and were quarantined until you could get tested. Say you care about all of your Chinese restaurant friends and didn't want to risk it for their health.

What else you got?

The goal isn't to NOT get recognized, rather how do I go back and pretend like I just avoided them like the plague for THREE months? I see how my facemask comment would lead you to believe that that's my MO, but ultimately, my objective is to transition back in regular patronage at this establishment.

They'be been offering take-out, but that doesn't change the fact regarding who's cooking the food.

I don't get rice, because I try and do low-carb...and, yes, I know the chicken is breaded, however, I try to minimize my carb intake. I was born and bred in Los Angeles, California...planet Earth.

Just go in...they arent your friends.

It boggles my mind when westerners complain about chinese food being salty yet won't eat rice with it.

He's either going to spit in your food no matter what you say or not spit in your food, no matter what you say.

Thai and Cambodian food >>>> Chinease food

Find another restaurant TS.

Oof! You're asking quite a bit. You've obviously never been to this restaurant...their portions are HUGE! Quality is great, as well.
