That is the exact opposite of how training works in real lifeNo matter how much you polish a turd it’s still a turd lol hooper will never be more than decent at striking

You are welcome to that opinion. I think he has improved massively and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.Every athlete has a ceiling, hooper will never be more than average at striking
This is a strange matchup... new kid in town vs seasoned veteran. Chase Hooper is good but you can never count Jim Miller out. I like both fighters but don't like the matchup.https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2025/01/ufc-314-fight-card-chase-hooper-vs-jim-miller
Via USA Today. Awesome to see this GOAT back and against a vet like Miller nonetheless. Can’t wait!!
Shit take based on nothing.Every athlete has a ceiling, hooper will never be more than average at striking
Jim is an international treasure in the history of MMA.Old Man Miller shows this geeky zoomer how it's done
Shit take based on nothing.
Werdum had worse striking all his career and only after grandpa age (by athlete standards) he developed a threatening muay thai game. There are many other examples.
Chase just turned 25 ffs.
To be fair, Hooper has been in the UFC since 2018This is a strange matchup... new kid in town vs seasoned veteran.
Charles was really improved in his boxing when he fought Frankie, no longer the guy who would flail at his opponents until he could clinch/shoot on them. But people commented that he was still clearly levels below, and that at the highest level, he was never gonna be elite on account of being a quitter. You are welcome to that opinion. I think he has improved massively and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, but wasn't that like 6 months ago?To be fair, Hooper has been in the UFC since 2018
None of that disproves anything I said. Your only counter was “HWs hit hard”. Gonzaga and werdume were both new to MMA with long careers as pure grapplers, second guy was a 36 year old bum (respectable bum, yet still a bum). His stand up was shit in comparison to his run to the ufc title (in his 30s) and that is a known fact.Yea ok you don’t know what you’re talking about. Werdum tkod Gonzaga before he was even in Pride and had a ko on his record as well right after that fight. He’s also a heavyweight which is a huge weight difference from Chase Hooper

You randomly made up a “ceiling” for a 25 year old fighter.
DC started training MMA in his 30s and has great stand up.
LW Charlie Olives’s stand up is light years better than FW.
I’m not saying the kid is the GOAT, hell i dont believe he will ever win a belt either, nor do I like him. But you’re absolutely just sticking to a purely subjective groundless opinion. Lets just wait and see how the flower blossoms.
Exactly.Chase hooper literally has some of the worst mma striking I’ve seen since Ben Askren, but sure you’re right I should give him a chance to blossom before writing him off in the standup
