On an audio show, Dave Meltzer said he talked to someone close to Nate & that Nate told him that he asked for the same pay as Conor for 202.
He said that he did not ask that for 200, but now that 200 is canceled he wants to be equal to Conor.

Obviously, he will never get that & on Ariel's show he sounded positive a deal will get made, but it seems like that is where he started negotiating from.

He won the fight, McGregor didn't. He should be the one that it's in the position to negotiate and he is, one way or another.

He deserves it really. Why not?

Because Conor is a bigger draw.
Conor can still do 1m+ PPV buys vs Aldo/Frankie
Nate can't

That does not mean he was wrong for aiming high though.

Yeah I agree too bad he's not worth what he's asking for.

The Diaz scrap pack on the negotiations of this fight right now. They know they got some pull.

Here is some rare unseen footage of the conversation between Dia and Dana

PPV sales, popularity bla bla bla...

I agree on a sporting sense that Nate should be paid at least equal to what Conor get but the UFC is basically real life pro wrestling. So Conor's gimmick gets him paid

It is not a WWE thing
Same for other sports.
The Yankees make the most money per year & miss the playoffs.
The same with Cowboys & NFL.

Why not? They have the same promoter so It's just an issue about the UFC not wanting to shell out the money. I don't know why guys keep bringing up Conor. This is 100% between Nate and the UFC.

Not going to get it but its smart to start real high so the bottom line ends up being more.

I do wonder though why the UFC don't promote more fighters the way they did Conor though. People say it was all Conor and his personality but forget the UFC shelled a ton of $$ to expose him to the world.

If they can do it with Conor why not someone else?

He's the only one in the whole equation with something to lose. AND it's pretty obvious that it is in everyone else's interest that he loses...

Business is business, he who takes the greatest risks gets the greatest reward. That's the way it has always worked...

Why would the rules suddenly change now?

He should get more. He won the fight.

Why isn't he? People love the Diaz brothers or they hate them. One way or another they want to watch them fight. Nate was a staple on the early Fox shows and the one pay per view he has headlined did well whether you want to argue it was McGregor or not.

Not many other late notice replacements would have created buzz like that in the really short leadup to the fight. Nate is worth it. I actually don't think McGregor's worth as much as you guys like to claim.

What?
Nate brought up Conor's pay & wanting equal & that is what the thread is about!

Nate is gambling not on his own draw power but the fact that the rematch appears to be in high demand.
