What a travesty. What a wasted opportunity. Should have been McGregor vs Pettis, Tony vs Khabib. Winner faces winner.

Ferguson announced that he is ready to return after injury only after the Khabib-Mcgregor fight was already booked. The fight against Pettis was added to the card after Khabib-McGregor fight was already booked. Should the UFC have cancelled an already booked fight to appease Ferguson cultists? Sorry, that's not how the real world works.

Khabib ducked tony. It's sad to see.

plus taking conor off means they lost a lot of money from people cancelling who were coming to see conor vs khabib.

As a fan, i would love that.
But business wise McGregor fight was far more appealing.

i wouldnt call getting injured as "wasting" your chance. Now not making weight...

There is always a time line on a return, and Tony's was well before the anticipated date.

Conor doesn't do co-main so if Conor, Khabib and Tony are on the same card and Conor doesn't have the belt then it's Conor who's fighting for the title.

Well 2 of those times he pulled out. People like to pretend that Tony is the reason why this fighy never happened, atleast Tony had legit excuses, Khabib went to a hospital tonhabe an IV administered, which might sound logical, except the UFC has on site doctors who had IV's, who wouldve been able to administer them without having to forfeit the fight.

Instead Khabib went to an emergency room where he had to wait for several hours for an IV to get pulled from the fight.

No, it wasn't, unless you actually prove it. The actual facts are:
1. Conor vs Khabib was announced no later than August 6.
2. Ferguson vs Pettis was announced on August 23.

Prove that Ferguson informed the UFC that he will be medically cleared to fight before August 6.

I dont have to prove it, your the one who made the dumb claim that he wasnt ready when they signed the fight.

The fact that they signwd tbe Pettis vs Ferg. Only weeks later for the same date shows they were fully aware that he was ready.

The onus is on you to prove that he refused the fight, and that they went with there 2nd choice in Conor. You can't claim Tony refused a fight without proof dummy.

The more egregious thing honestly (from a merit standpoint, obviously not a financial one) was Conor being gifted the LW title shot after going 1-1 above 145. Tony fought RDA the same month as Conor vs Eddie. Tony had won 7 or 8 in a row at that point, every one at LW. They bypassed him to get their golden goose his second belt. That changed the entire landscape of the division.

$ over merit. Maybe it's always been that way and that's fine but those who argue it doesn't delegitimize the belts are either biased or stupid.

Conor had a bitch fit and Dana let him leap frog Tony. Now that Conor has miserably failed and prefers to fight old men we can hopfully see Tony and Khabib fight.
