so you dont oversleep
InoGOAT and KingRy? Your nicknames keep getting worse, bro.
i thought it was still on Saturday here in Asia. Thanks for reminding
Will this be on Dazn?
5am eastern to be exact
I'm guessing main event will be around 9 or 10 but thats pure speculation
Can't wait, boxing on a Thursday, what a time to be alive.
Thanks for the good and bad news
Yeah the timing is rough
Could always watch it on demand after the fact but of course that isn't the same
Luckily i work night shift and early morning feels like late at night
Don’t sleep on Donaire. At this weight his power is for real.
That said, the monster has to be a large favourite....can’t wait.
nonito is past it, but he's still a very good fighter. but the issue isn't donaire, it's the fact that inoue seems to be packing ungodly power.
i feel bad for him, but he's unfortunately in the way of a monster. i'll be shocked if he makes it the full 12.
I doubt it makes it to the full 12 but Donaire has a puncher's chance here. Inoue can be hit early. If he eats the big left hook counter, things may get interesting. If he doesn't, Nonito is gone in the middle rounds.
I bet on a Nonito decision @8/1 odds although I reckon this likely ends in KO. Donaire doesn't get the respect he deserves, his fight with Darchinyan was one of my favorites even though I was rooting for 'the raging bull'.
Agreed. Nonito needs to peak early or Inoue will wear him down. And Donaire ain't so young anymore to weather that kind of punishment, unless Inoue manages to slack off.
Inoue is the boxer I am hyped the most for at the moment. Donnaire is a good fight.
Really looking forward to this. My prediction is Ko in under 6, but thats the hype train speaking!
His lil brother Takuma is fighting on the same card for the WBC bantam belt.
I guess if everything goes as planned Naoya will move up soon. In my opinion he definately could go to 122 maybe even 126. But thats just my personal hype until it happens
the thing is though, we've never seen naoya even remotely in trouble before. people have given him some fits with their boxing, but only in spots. we all know nonito can punch, but naoya seems to have both the chin and the power of someone several weight classes above his own. i have a hard time imagining him being legitimately hurt early, when he's never even been dazed.
i know it's the hype talking out of me because the kid's been ruining everyone, but it's very difficult not to be excited by his career. this is his third weight class, but realistically it's the 4th, since he skipped one all together. and through all that moving up, his knockouts have only gotten more devastating, while none of the opposition is getting anything going with him. that 1-2 he put on payano reminded me of roy jones blasting fools in his prime, like a fucking gunshot. he just walks into the ring and demolishes who ever stands in front of him, it's ridiculous.
Oh, he'll be a clear favorite. The thing is : he's not a defensive wizard and Nonito has some pop. Especially at 118. If he hits flush, I don't think Inoue has ever felt anything similar. Of course it is hypothetical, but I don't want to be sucked into the hype you're talking about up to the point where I'm blind. He'll come at Donaire, and Donaire made a career out of tagging those who come at him.
Be sure that my money would be on Inoue if I were a betting person.
You honestly could not have scripted a better tourney.....the conclusion of which SHOULD result in a passing of the torch to an amazing young champion......still there is intrigue because the old lion still has some roar left in him.
If Donaire comes out looking to kill it will be epic one way or the other, but if he comes out looking to survive, he ends up like Kovalev last weekend.
Thanks for the thread...I knew this was this week, but When I looked for it I couldn’t find it Friday/Saturday. I won’t catch it live, but it will be a treat when I wake up (too old, and my sleep cycle is fucked up enough)
This starts in about 40 minutes. It's on Sky Sports in the UK.
