Holy shit. Watching it back compared to what we see now, chuck was just fucking THROWING, now they are much more measured and precise, but even if he was getting all arm that would fuck you up.

This is also against Tito Ortiz in standup lol

Back then the standards were different though. Most fighters were 1 or 2 dimensional. It’s not like these days where to be top 10 you have to be really good at everything, and outstanding at 1-2 things.

It’s just the way it was back then.

One of the best cards ever

Randy was a tough dude but that fight was a mistake and a mismatch

Remember when that BUM b movie actor guy with the haircut claimed this kick

Aw man those days

Chuck was never an elite pure striker, even in his era. His thing was timing, accuracy, power and TDD. He was good enough to beat the grappling heavy LHW division in the UFC at the time. Once better strikers came, he started losing.

I mean he was also like 38 when he retired which I’m sure had something to do with it too.

Those were the days!

I remember him in the interviews leading up to the fight said "he figured out the puzzle" and he was very secret about it. Just said that he had "figured out the Lyoto puzzle" over and over again with a grin on his face

Yes, since Chuck relied heavily on his natural attributes. Once that deteriorated, he went downhill fast. I'm not saying he was a bad fighter. It takes more than skill and technique to be elite. Chuck was a different animal.

Prime Chuck and Randy would be top 5 in today's division.

I remember that. Pretty sure ole Randy didn't land a strike on him. Never got close to tying Machida up either.

Remember when Machida said he wanted to fight Brock...but got rekt by LHW's and went down to MW

I believe Couture and White were on good terms for that fight. I've quoted the most hilarous post fight exchange before, but I'll do it again because its so funny.
*Post KO by Machida*
Couture: He knocked my tooth out
White: Don't worry, we'll get you a better one
