jj is next in line...
Basically no world class combat athlete keeps winning at age 38 and beyond.
Even that fine wine Bernard Hopkins got beat twice in a row by a no name called Jermaine Taylor.
The amazing thing isn't that Weidman beat Anderson when he was 38 but that Anderson won 17 straight in the UFC with many of those wins coming well in his 30s.
I remember it well. Anderson fans were discrediting Weidman badly in any way they could.
Made the loss hilarious. And the meltdown on here was incredible
Not sure what makes you think this, but thanks for stopping by.
Yet they all forget that it ever happened, and pretend Dana is the first one to ever be wrong about a fighter.
Go lok at the threads. Every Sherdogger said Barao already won because he is so freaking amazing and TJ had no chance. Then after TJ wins everyone suddenly says Barao was always overrated and not that good.
lol Jermaine Taylor wasn't a no name when they fought.
The first part makes the 2nd part true. If everyone thinks he had already one, then when he loses that means he was rated too highly.
Labelling someone as "unbeatable" is bound to eventually come back and bite you right in the ass. No one is unbeatable, so whether Dana said it, or your average Sherdoger, it is a retarded claim.
BUT, Anderson had a much more legitimate claim for being thought as untouchable, than Barao was. So both claims are retarded, but calling Barao the P4P king and an unbeatable fighter was going full retard (i'm not acting like both results didn't shock me).
Like half of sherdog is haters of any particular fighter. There are always TONS of threads about how the challenger will school the champion, no matter who it is. TONS. ALWAYS.
he didnt lose bra, he broke his leg and the fight was stopped and thats a fact!
Thats the irony of it all, so many people want to shit on Dana for making wild claims.. even though they're guilty of it. And tons of them made a shit load of dumbass claims saying it wasn't a legit loss. At least Dana said "Yeah well, he got punched really hard and it changed the fight, thats the fight game"
So many want to shit on Dana, when he said "I've got a champion that is unbeaten in 10 years, and is the best in the world." And when he was wrong he said "Yeah, thats life".
If you win for a long time...you never get old, never get injured, and on fight day you are always 100%...and long win streaks are because of UFC giving favorable match ups...
like Cain and DC's fights in the UFC
13-23% of Sherdog picked Weidman to win in various polls, rising as the fight came closer:
Its only got worse after each fight.
Beat no-one of note before he fought X. Beat no-one of note after he beat him.
That's a no-name.
Well I agree with you that people can be hypocrites and use retrospect view to act like they were right all along. But you act like Sherdog is one person. Contradicting posts are not fickle or hypocrite fans, they are different posters (most of the time).
As for Dana, Sherdog loves to shit on him and a lot of times it's justified, but anyone who goes on record as much as Dana does, is bound to get cough for some BS statements. He did take Barao's lose in a mature way, uncharacteristically.
Or TJ is just so much better than everyone gave him credit for. It can't be that now can it. They said the same thing about Silva/Weidman. So I guess Silva is just not that good and is way overrated. It can't be Weidman just had his number .. can't be that.
I think he usually takes most losses well. If he is high on a guy and he loses, he handles it well unless its highly controversial and he was on the losing end. Like a lot of people in the JH-GSP fight, he didn't handle that one well. But, I dont think he was out of line there. Typically it's the he said she said play ground BS that he comes off looking silly.
