Kang I thought did good the first few minutes but I thought he gassed pretty early...and of course bisping took over....

Obligatory "Kang was never the same after his wife died" comment. Because it's probably true, sadly...

He dropped Bisping and almost had him finished. The rest of the fight was hard to watch.

that's what usually happens if Mike wins, his work rate will eventually make folks gas.

Yeah Kang did well early, dropping bisping and then getting mount on the ground but Bisping recovered very well and used awesome, slick hip escapes to regain guard and keep Kang from mounting any real offense from the top. Once he started to pour it on down the stretch, Kang was done.

That's why Kennedy really impressed me against Bisping- no one else as far as I've seen has had success keeping bisping grounded like that. He is very good in scrambles and escapes and Kennedy once he had him down, kept him down. Sure he didnt get to do much with the positioning but he out grappled bisping handily.

That is what happened

Dennis Kang displayed some of the biggest mental/anxiety breakdowns in UFC. Might even trump CroCop's. It had less to do with his physical conditioning.

It's amazing how many people don't (or more likely refuse to) grasp this simple concept. Bisping just happens to be really lucky in that a lot of his opponents who were initially doing well (Kang, Akiyama, Mayhem, Belcher) just randomly gass out. His work rate and the pace he sets clearly wasn't a factor...

Cool story brah....

goes to show you that cardio is probably the most important thing to have in MMA. Bisping beat a lot of good guys by outlasting them, while the naturally gifted ones usually don't have the work ethic to match their entry talent.

I was also impressed by Kennedy for this reason. He didn't gas, but showed supreme cardio. Was expecting Bisping to take over past the 2nd round.

I saw Kang at the theaters a while back, was surprised how big he was.

Yeah. I don't like Kennedy but he's always impressed me as a fighter. He's a grinder with endless cardio. I knew going in he was a dangerous fight for Bisping to take, not in the same way a Vitor or a Machida would be, but he was the kind of guy with no hype that could set you back in the rankings, perhaps permanently. Having said that, I still expected Bisping to win, I didn't think Kennedy would be able to keep him down like he did.

Kang was maybe the biggest underachiever given his skill level the sport has seen.
There was a time many thought he might have been the guy to give Anderson a real test.
