So possible political playbook ideas for all sides... Other than the basic controlling the news media cycle, creating a race vs race agenda, they are taking our guns and haves vs have not (likely not as big a play w/ Bernie out).


Biden/Dems:

Wait it out approach aka let Trump dig his own grave with his words and actions.

Dem governors start implementing stricter rules on gatherings thus creating fewer debates for Biden and less possible gaffes by him (which GOP/Trump are putting a lot of eggs into that basket)

Similar to above, rules for masks at a debate are enforced (either to and from the stage at any time or during debate), thus seeing a Dem governor enforce this and give Trump a ticket... likely to be by Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.

Trump/GOP:

Wait it out aka let the Left eat itself (just wait for when they go after Lin-Manuel Miranda and his creation of Hamilton (debatable issues on slavery).

Announce a vaccine (even if not true or highly effective).

Play the it took a worldwide pandemic to bring down the economy card (and its already bouncing back as a whole).

I'm not sure about that. The protestors weren't on video doing anything aggressive. The couple just appeared out of nowhere. I don't necessarily think they did anything wrong. But I don't think people are seeing it as a polarizing issue.

TRUMP cant do much other than to try and increase turnout from Republicans and flip some independents. He got 90% last time of the GOP. And 89% of republican women.

Other than that a few independents. Holding his base and increasing the % of republicans to 95% and a few point increases in Independents and he would easily win.


He has more ways to lose at this point though. The virus, there is nothing he can do to appease everyone. And BLM AND RIOTS even if he did what the left wanted they would never vote for him. And they would move the goal post. Then he would lose his base of supporters.

The scary thing about Trump for the dems is that he just needs to keep his mouth shut, stay out of the spotlight, and his poll numbers WILL go up. That is how low the bar is for him.

Now do I think his handlers are capable of keeping him quite during a global pandemic and racially driven civil unrest, with russian bombshells landing around their foxhole? Probably not.
