Last yr while training, my partner (who was a brown belt at the time) went to pass my guard and when he did, he smashed my leg to the side, and in the process it messed up something in my hip area. Since then I get a throbbing pain in my side from time to time. I havent had it looked at because I know itll cost a bucket of money to do anything to it, on top of that its the whole insurance thing..you know how that is.

I'm not asking what the problem is, although if you have an idea please let me know, what I'm asking is what are some exercises I can do to rehab it? I know cold weather somehow effects injured bones and joints, and I'm already feeling the effects..last night while workingout I had to cut it short cause I was in too much pain to go on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just wanna add right now, I;m feeling a little pain, but its bearable, its just on certain occasions it gets hard to walk without limping

Surely what it is dictates how you rehab it though?

I bet you will be told to go get it checked out too. Online diagnosis will not work.

Without knowing what the injury is, no one could correctly tell you how to rehab it. Considering it's an issue that's persisted for some time now...Go. See. A. Doctor.

No, I don't.

If your hip has been bothering you since last year you may have to bite the bullet and get it looked at. You've long passed the minor injury time frame if it hasn't healed already, unless you've kept aggravating it.

I'm going to go with a labral tear and possibly hip impingement :0). I got the same general thing from too much jiujitsu (and genetic predisposition).

One thing that can be useful (if this is the issue) is to make sure you have no muscle imbalances (I have a much stronger lower back than abdominals, which is bad!)

It could be any number of things ranging from the simple which require some deep massage therapy to the complex, tears and worse.

You definitely need to get it looked at. At the very least see a massage therapist and have them feel around and see if they notice anything, if money is an issue I am sure this will be much cheaper and better then nothing.

Nice to see how some people get advice on injuries while others get the dubs for making such a thread.
