Referee's Perspective: Pedantry

I wrote a piece for Joe Clifford's excellent cutman newsletter which was a layman's explanation of the rules amendment proposal I sent to the ABC a couple of years ago. If you're interested in the rules you might enjoy it.

That was a whole lot of writing.... But yeah, it comes down to subjectivity based on perspective. How the ref sees said strike and his determination of what was happening can influence his approach (presuming the ref even knows what he's doing, which Big John does).

I'm optimistic. When you have such inconsistency seven days apart it's difficult to justify inaction.
