Reem seems immune to CTE

Not funny brother, he committed suicide in May of 2012. His brain was studied and he was suffering from CTE.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to JDS.

yeah, but what will he be like at age 60? Chances are high it might be a vegetable.

Mark Hunt seems like the kind of of guy who's taken a ridiculous amount of head shots over his career and would end up with CTE.. But then again, CTE is probably afraid of Samoans.

I don't know if it's better to be more prone to concussions because of a weak chin or to just take all the shots while rarely getting your bell rung.

Best example is JDS, he probably absorb more damage from the two fights with Cain compared to Overeem overall career.

Wrong, and its not even close. There is some truth in the argument you are making, but Overeem has just taken way too much punishment over the years to make that kind of assumption. Even how horrible beatings JDS suffered vs Cain, it would look 10x worse if you combine all the damage Overeem has absorbed in his combat sport career and make it a one highlight.

Having chin like his definetely helps him to save his brain from excessive amount of punches.
And I'm not saying this as a bad thing.
Like, his chin is weak and gives the brain early sign to shut the shit down on sight...
That’s a good theory.

Glad he ain’t one of those too tough for their good.

Idk man, Goodridge starting showing signs way after his active career.

I’ve always felt he is the king of remaining relevant no matter what scary shit you see happen to him where anybody else wudda went on a chunky skid immediately if they tried getting back on the horse

Where exactly are you getting these stats from, particularly about the “majority of NFL concussions come from shots that don’t hit their head?” Is this just what you feel or do you have stats to back it up?
Because roughly 30% of concussions come during the course of being tackled, another 26% come from instances of blocking, and roughly 1% of these plays were flagged for contact to the head. That would mean that on a majority of concussions, contact with the shoulder or torso and the resulting whiplash would be the cause of the concussion.

Yes, but “During the tackle” doesn’t mean there was no impact to the head. The conclusion below leaves out helmet to turf hits but it already accounts for 80%. If you’re suggesting the majority come from the “whiplash” of a tackle...I’m not sure if that conclusion is correct.

“The group found that 45 percent of the concussions occurred on helmet-to-body hits, with 35 percent coming on helmet-to-helmet hits, something Crandall said represents a decrease from past studies.”

Look up Junior Seau, CTE is definitely not afraid of Polynesians/Samoans.

that could be why he's started to whine and act in what would've been uncharacteristic ways even if they're not full tony ferguson bj penn

Well, he also got screwed over by the UFC a ton. It's not like he was bitching about nothing.

CTE is not very predictable, some people just seem to be a lot more susceptible than others. No one would have ever guessed Jake Lamotta would have been healthy into his 90s.
