The guys over at Reebok cannot be feeling to good about their new investment. First a fighter they sponsor directly tests positive for cocaine

Then multiple failed random drug tests already this year, their deal isn't even in place yet but the product they thought they were sponsoring already looks quite a bit different than it did 1 month ago

Things will probably get better but who knows, if the random drug testing keeps picking off contenders this could be an ugly year

I hope Reebok pulls the deal. Fighters got fucked by it.

i think theres a very good chance they just cancel the deal

then again its not like reebok has other options, there clearly a bottom tier company now

As i just said elsewhere, wouldnt surprise me if sponsor pressure from reebok is part of the reason behind the additional testing.

positives arent the end of the world for a sponsor as long as the sport they are sponsoring is "leading the way" in anti doping. We have seen Nike back athletes through all sorts of stuff.

Reebok will be "happy to be associated with a sport that is at the forefront of anti doping"

Reebok got the deal of the century with the UFC. $70 million for six years? The roids haven't gotten too much mainstream sports coverage anyway.

2015 is shaping up to be pretty fucked lol

Coca Cola should step up

Fake mustaches producer should sponsor UFC.

"Uh, I'm sorry Mr. Commissioner, I certainly am not Hector Lombard"

A few NBA players get that much by themselves in a year just for wearing sneakers...

So much for MMA being the biggest sport in the world...

Only UFC profits from this deal.....although DW claims they dont make a dime off it.

This is a tough time for UFC! Not only is Champ Jones having problems with drugs, but also all-time great Anderson Silva [MMA's Barry Bonds?], Nick Diaz ...AGAIN, Wandy, Sonnen, and now #3 ranked Hector Lombard busted for steroids. With many big bouts being canceled, a lack of current BIG name stars, and some really bad decisions in fights, the sport is having a tough period. I hope it can survive.

Indeed. The UFC sold themselves cheap. I guess they couldn't find another bidder like Nike to drive up the price.

But six years of exclusivity for all 500+ UFC fighters, including all the champions and exposure in every single bout on every single card for $70 million? No way Reebok has any regrets. I'm surprised they haven't gotten a lot of more props for the business deal they made.

Man don't throw Nick Diaz in the mix with guys like Anderson, Sonnen, Wand and Lombard

Do we know how the fighters are getting paid from this yet?

Exactly, most A-level NBA players would command more than $70 million for 6 years and Reebook is getting 400 UFC athletes and most likely a logo spot on the Octagon for cheaper than 1 NBA or NFL player lol
