I grew up in a trailer park. This type of shit happens daily. Generational poverty is awful....these people descended from a bunch of poor people, and they've likely made a bunch more poor people to perpetuate the cycle.

Me too. This is just life there. We always had crazy shit happening. I thank my lucky stars I was able to get out, and not have to raise my kids in the same conditions.

Agreed. Digging yourself out of that environment is hard but totally doable if you've got the right mindset and awareness. Anytime I visit my hometown and I see one of the guys I grew up with there I try to motivate them to do better and make good choices......most of the time they look at me with a blank stare like they never considered any other possibility that didn't involve pills, booze, theft/burglary, and unskilled labor.
