Do you use any of these or any other energy supplement before you work out? How good of an effect does it have and would you recommend it?

From my experience, I'll tell you this: NEVER, EVER, EVER drink an energy drink before a workout. You'll throw up all over the place after any intense physical activity. They're meant for afterwards, I gather.

Maybe Monster or that Rockstar garbage but not Suger-Free Redbull. I drink one or two cans before every workout with no ill effects. It gives you wings, dude.

Expensive caffiene is what those drinks are. Essentially, a pick-me-up for people that either don't drink coffee, or are complete suckers for advertising.

I've had a low-carb Monster (only energy dirnk I consume, other than sugar free Full Throttle) before a run or a workout a few times, and every time it's lead to nausea and an overall feeling of shit.

I drink them if I'm absolutely drained from work before I work out but usually i prefer not to take them.. But Red Bull does work for me.

No i go with redline a 1/2 hr prior to workout.Monster i'll use for vodka,i'm telling you it's the best. Get a large cup from wawa or 7-11(44oz) depoist contents of said energy drink with 4.5 or 5 shots of voda, add ice, straw and stir and your good to go.Tastes great, good pre-game drink before the bar or MMA events.Plus it saves you bread since it's the same price as a redbull.

IMHO redline is one of the best pre-workout drinks for weight training.

Those drinks are good.. if you want to kill yourself.
We have redbull and such drinks in Sweden, they're horrible. Alot of sugars, and they're not even dextrose or malto. Refined white sugar, it's like drinkin syrup..
I tend to keep away from caffeine and taurine.

i think theyre okay if you dont like coffee or whatever...

just make sure youre drinking the diet kind.

you're better off taking a SPIKE energy tab from biotest or BLACKJAX from stacker2...or really any thermogenic fat burner product

and then just drink your usual workout fluids (water, gatorade, etc)

I drink nitro2go because I get them for free(sponsored)

they are effective as other said drink the sugar free ones, but you're best without them.

I have no doubt that this happened to you but it is by no means the average. In fact, I'd say this is very rare.

100% true. Taking a 200mg No doz 30mins before your workout will yeild more stimulation than those drinks... and it's a fuck load cheaper.

Glucose which is also referred to as dextrose, is a moderately sweet sugar found in vegetables and fruit.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

I puked when drinking one before a hard class. Not really worth it for workout purpose

I find those drinks to be nasty... Try Aquafina or Dasani.. :)

As nootropic/stimulant combinations, I think energy drinks suck.

Power Drive + Vasopro + Caffeine + Accelerade, or
Neurostim + Vasopro + Accelerade

And, I mean, shit, fellas, all this will actually cost you less.

I agree. I currently use Accelerade during my training and I take 200mg of caffeine about 30 mins prior. That combo is costing me roughly .50 cents and works great.
