can someone recommend me or link me to a nice ear guard for grappling so prevent cauliflowre ears lol.
Cliff Keen Tornado Headgear These are probably the best ones. Cliff Keens have deep ear cups, I've tried Asics and Isami headgears but they had shallow cups that still made my ears hurt.
I don't like the hard plastic on the Tornado. It can hurt your training partners. Brute Quad II for me.
brute shockwave is good but its hard to wash and it ends up smelling HORRIBLE.... funny story, i had one when i first started and i wore it a lot, and since then i made some friends and a couple of them admitted to me how bad the earguards smelled and how they didnt want to tell me back then since they didnt know me well enough. Now I got these antibacterial wipes, and i wipe my brute quad 2 earguards, and they dont smell and they fit fine.
Not one guy (out of 85 guys) at my academy wears ear guards...kinda strange. Im not prone to culliflower ear so I dont need to wear them. I really need to get a mouthpiece though....Im going to get an opro OPRO Mouthguards -- The World's Favourite Mouthguard (I know this isnt a mouthpiece thread but while your on the subject of protection)
i love the Brute Shockwave Wrestling Earguard -- i have both the Brute Shockwave and the CK Tornado ( - Cliff Keen Twister Headgear - ) and i find the Shockwave is far more friendly for your partners (soft), also the Shockwave has a very slim profile so its not as bulky and doesn't get in they way as much as the Tornado... and to the comment someone made about smell... i throw my Shockwave headgear in the laundry and hang dry it once or twice a week and im pretty sure they don't smell...
Another vote for Cliff Keen Tornado. Comfortable, solid construction and fairly priced. Can't go wrong with this headgear.
hard to wash? how is that? it goes straight into the washing machine with my gi after every training and it doesnt smell at all and is in great condition let me guess, you were trying to wipe yours with a fucken cloth or something? no wonder it smelt
Train hard a few times a week for a year and if you start developing sore and/or swollen ears you are susceptible?
