Finally using the pandemic to catch up on the past few years of Muay Thai/Kickboxing fights i missed. Anyone know why all the listed weightclasses are 10lbs heavier? Like for example Nong-O is listed as bantamweight at around 145lbs, which would be like welterweight in boxing/Muay Thai and featherweight if we're talking UFC/MMA.

They want to avoid extreme weight cutting so everybody fights a weight class up and does hydration test. That's their way of saying those are the real weight class or something, they started doing that for MMA but applied it to KB/MT too.

Thanks. Ring card girls are quite frightening might i add.

Yeah but i wouldn't say it's 10 lbs, more like somewhere between 0-10 lbs in general.

Rodtang fought at around 135 lbs against Kaonar and Yodlekpet in Thailand. Against Haggerty it was also at 135 lbs. Maybe he was a bit undersized in the first fight though.

Did ring girls ever lead to increased ticket sales?

I guess Im gonna be that guy but I like the ring girls lol

Do increased ticket sales put money in my pocket? I don't care, I care about my viewing pleasure.

And I wouldn't be shocked if they did increase ticket sales in Japan.

They probably do, I’m sure a lot of them are involved with different idol outfits and are big on social media. Some of them could have more followers than the organizations they work for.

Ya, because having hot women hold round cards at fight events is completely out of the ordinary... fuck it, lets go hardcore...

They probably look better in photos and on their own social media, i guess that's what counts for them at least. Seeing their plastic shiny puffy faces on camera is a bit off-putting though, the makeup and surgery is not very subtle like they can't even make human facial expressions.

Anyway that's besides the point, ONE has been putting on good fights so far, will being a ONE champion be the goal for most nak muay rather than stadium titles in the future? It seems like covid is slowly suffocating Muay Thai in Thailand.
