They're talking 'World War, lets do it in Mexico City.' To be honest, that's easy money. That was good for me. If he thinks it was competitive I'll be more than happy to bust him up again."

Does anyone besides me find Dana's methods of fight/fighter promotion a little irritating? Melendez was right. All we heard from the bald father was Diego this Diego that. Save for a few brief, and I mean brief moments in the fight, Diego was getting his fucking ass whooped. All we heard was how he was a warrior blah blah blah. It was bullshit. I think I noticed shit like this after JDS KTFO outta Cain and Dana was talking shit about JR's cardio right after the fight. I was like WTF?!?!?!? How are you gonna diss a guy your supposed to promote.

It does seem unfair. But Diego is an original TUFer.. Dana will talk about him more then ANYONE he faces win or lose.

This fight really doesn't require a rematch. Very one sided. If Melendez wanted to, he could win a lot easier than he did, as well.

Melendez should not even worry about it. We all saw the fight he won that fight convincingly. Diego is getting props because he took a beating and nobody knew how he was still standing.

I think Gilbert beats Diego every time they fight.

Right after the first JDS vs Velasquez fight Dana was shit talking Velasquez instead of promoting JDS. Now he's just praising Sanchez when he was dominated (imo) and not giving enough praise to Gil.

This. It was only as "competitive" as it was because Gil fought Diego's fight.it really only gets harder for Diego at this point.

it was a fun fight but it doesn't warrant a rematch. it was surprising, however, that Diego stayed in there in the pocket and brought it to Gil in the 3rd, dropping him with that uppercut. it seemed like Gilbert was flash ko'd for a second, as he said in the Helwani interview that he had "blacked out," and when he "woke up" he was in a "rassling (sic) match." so by his own admission it seems like Gilbert got flash ko'd and then woke up in a scramble after hitting the mat. pretty impressive by Diego, and a very fun fight, but it was not a draw or back-and-forth really, although Diego had his moments...

Yup. Also he said Cain should have tested JDS's cardio cause it was questionable. It just further proves what I think, no fighter is above the UFC brand. Thats why Dana will build up and tear down any fighter he wishes. I guarantee that if Chuck would have went to another rival org and finished his career, Dana would have been blasting the shit out of him.

Gil is right. Most people are taking about Diego's ability to take a beating and be entertaining. If Dana makes the rematch, he's making a mistake.

All Dana is really doing is hurting Diego's physical health by sacrificing him for money.

Would I watch it? Of course but I think Gil finishes him this time. The way Diego is constantly slurring after his fights, I hope he doesn't fight too much longer. Between him & Shogun, it's fun watching them fight but not at the cost of their brain being scrambled for the rest of their lives.

Everyone is missing the point of this thread. Its the fact that Dana was promoting the shit outta Diego after the fight like the fight wasnt a one sided beat down by Gilbert. Its just sad.
