Recent fights/results/news from South America

Thought a thread like this might be useful as there are quality fights happening, mostly WGP in Brazil, but elsewhere in South America too.

To open it up there are 2 upcoming events with exciting fighters.

WGP keeps chugging on in Brazil. Their events are streamed on http://wgpkickboxing.com.br/ usually for a very reasonable price. They just had their last event a few weeks ago. The next one is happening on december 20th and unless my eyes are failing me that looks a lot like Alex Pereira on the poster.

Another upcoming event is Star Fighters Promotion - The Machine is Back in Suriname on december 28th, obviously with Andy Ristie. Some other names on the card are Clyde Brunswijk and the recent KOK champion Chris Baya. Cedric Manhoef was supposed to be fighting also but I think he isn't on the card anymore.

Had no idea Alex Pereira was going to fight MMA too.
Don't know if he'll keep doing it or was this a short notice one off or what. He was supposed to defend his WGP title on an still unannounced event probably in nov/dec but the event that has the tournament deciding his opponent got pushed back a little so his fight got pushed back too. Maybe this was just to keep busy?

Situation with Brazilians: Teixeira fought mma and looks like he is keeping at it, Silva going to debut in mma, Pereira had his mma debut(?).

Not liking this direction all that much, someone should keep these guys busy and in kickboxing!

WGP looks like a good promotion. I think they done something combined with showtime back in the days.

Can't wait for Risties return. Cedric Manhoef will not be able to fight on the event because of visa issues. It'll all be sorted out in Jan so he will be back to fighting
