Recent fights/results/news from ONE Championship

its only a story on facebook but i have read some mad stuff from Phetjeeja about how she left the Venum gym and got loads of problems because of it.

and accusations of the head guy at Venum doing... well, bad stuff. abusing kids, toxic gym environment with bullying and god knows what

anyone else hear this stuff before?

she is probably the best female fighter i have ever seen, hope her career doesn't get stunted

i was trying to remember who else trained at Venum and I couldn't....

Yeah phetjeeja is definitly one of the best female fighters around.
Are you talking about the venom gym in pattaya that mehdi zatout runs?
Wouldn't suprise me. I said before a lot of them have supernatural looking physiques. Including mehdi when he was 40.
They have a lot of fighters.
Fabio reis included

in the Facebook story it is spelled 'Venum' FWIW and they refer to a Thai guy as head coach

Im pretty sure I saw mehdi cornering Petjeeja in One before. But i think he is head coach or something like that. Im not sure if he is an owner or anything like that.
But u do see him in the corner anytime a venum fighter is on One etc

It is venum. I spelt it wrong. They would have more than 10 fighters fighting in One. Nabil, ramazanov etc

In a recent Facebook post, Phetjeeja, the ONE Women’s Atomweight kickboxing world champion affiliated with the Lukjaoporongtom camp, clarified her recent transition from the Venum Training Camp.
Phetjeeja revealed that she is no longer training at Venum. Although she was never officially signed with Venum, she had been paying for training and providing a percentage of her earnings to the camp. However, due to various issues that arose in May, her main camp decided to end her association with Venum and move her training to the Sor. Dechapant camp.
The situation escalated when Venum allegedly threatened that her departure could jeopardize her future fight opportunities. This threat, according to Phetjeeja, has led to significant complications, including the potential loss of fight bookings.
In her statement, Phetjeeja defended herself against these claims and denied causing any trouble for Venum or anyone else. She expressed frustration over the ongoing issues and emphasized her desire to continue pursuing her boxing career and dreams.
Phetjeeja thanked her supporters for their continued encouragement and understanding during this challenging time.

Also the venum gym has loads of russian/dagestani muslim and iranian fighters.
It wouldn't suprise me if they were giving Petjeeja shit for being an openy gay female.

the longer post I read made far more dark allegations but it very specifically referred to a Thai guy as head coach

  • Kongchai Chanaidonmueang vs. Amir Abdulmuslimov (Muay Thai – 126-pound catchweight)
  • Petlampun Muadablampang vs. Singdomthong Nokjeanladkrabang (Muay Thai – 128-pound catchweight)
so, Petlampun vs Singdomthong

both having fought and beat Rambong is a great guide, these are two good fighters in a really good matchup.

Sing- he's taller and he has a really good body kick with the right leg but he's a real threat with the hands and elbows too- knocked Rambong down twice and hurt him badly, knocked Irvine down twice, Rambong with right hands, Irvine with left hooks, and he knocked Surachai down with a beautiful counter-elbow, so he's a KO/KD threat to anyone. However both the Rambong and Irvine fights went pretty much the same way, 2 KD's in the opening round but then both the Bong and Irvine pretty much chased him around the ring for the remaining 2 rounds and in Irvine's case especially, beat him up a bit. He looked exhausted in the 3rd against irvine and you could make a case Rambong beat him despite the KD's but then, you know, fucken Rambong, if you don't actually nail him to the canvas he will come back at you.

Petlampun to me is the more polished and better all round fighter who utilises the full range of weapons and chains them together better, I think he's the smoother fighter technically but I think he wins this one because he is just a hard fucker who looks to me to have the better resilience and punch resistance, he certainly stood up to Rambong's power better. I also think he's shown a better engine in 3rd rounds, where Sing's stamina seems to not have been the absolute greatest.

Kongchai vs Abdulmuslimov, its Kong's left kick against Dem Hands, I assume. haven't rewatched any of Abdul's fights but FFS he's some kind of Dagestani-bearded-Russian type so, you know, Dem Hands.

there's a few of Dem Russians out there tonight so we await the multiple KD's and KO's with interest

Geraghty vs Yusunov was an OUTSTANDING technical fight for relatively inexperienced fighters

Imangazaliev, my fucking word. Dem fucking Hands. Fuck me. That’s 2 fights and even tho he’s an identikit bearded Dagestani I don’t forget his first win either. Not just Dem Hands like huge heavy hands like Khomutov, although that may be true too. It’s the way he creates and exploits KO opportunities from nowhere. He looks to have a very difficult style to time.
I’m pretty sure this guy becomes a championship contender

Rak vs Yodnumchai will be interesting. I love how rational the OFF matchmaking is, the progression to it, with Yod the same as it was with Puengluang, they get 4/5 good wins firstly at lower level, then Yod was given Tubthimthong as a little step up, Pueng had Juan Felipe and Seksan Fairtex then they gave him jaosuyai. Yod's now been given/fed to Rak, to see if he can operate at a higher level.

the more i watch Yod, the more (in OFF at least) he looks like a straight right hand with legs and arms. Seems like nearly all his effective work is with that right hand, despite being a taller fighter at the weight he hasn't done much with the kicking game (albeit he has had a couple of pretty quick KO's so not much time to being the full arsenal). He's excellent at finding ways to land the right hand though, with the big step-in 1-2, or he is brilliant with a half-step back or a pullback counter, his timing and distancing with it is excellent. I also noticed in the last fight with Tub, he likes to step back into southpaw and bring his opponent onto a counter left elbow- watch for that, if he switches he is absolutely looking for that shot, seems to look for it if his opponent backs him towards the ropes, he invites them in and bangs the left elbow. He's not much for body punching though, or left hooks, or uppercuts. or kicks or knees really. like i say he just seems like a straight right hands with legs and arms

Rak is a bit shorter but he has shown a lot more work with the legs, really snaps out the leg kicks and body kicks, nice light footwork just hovering in and out of distance, he has shown a much broader diversity of weapons in OFF than Yod has and both in One and outside has mixed at a higher level. I'd look for him to stay outside, sting the legs and work his more diverse offence from range and possibly even see if he can draw Yod onto power shots
I've got to go with Rak on this one on experience and versatility but even if Yod is a one-trick pony so far he has been very good at pulling that trick over and over again.

will be interesting to see if the extremely tough experienced Petnamngam stands up to the so-far devastating hands of Chartpayayak

Demirkapu has a KO win over Buakhiao so I am wondering if Kongklai's kryptonite applies here again
