Received a phone call from a scam artist trying to get me to lower my interest rate on my creditcard

So today I got a call from 1 of those guys. He asked me would I want my interest rate lowered? I said yes. He said he can help, I first needed to give him my cards expiration date, I gave him one, he then asked for the 16 digits on the card, I proceed to give him 16 digits. After that the ingrateful prick hung up. I Started bowling my ass off. I was thinking to myself "You fool! Do you know you are messing with the best here?"

Anyways moral of the story guys is never answer your phone.

WTH? What card? The card does not exist. I said I gave him 16 digits, but not my cards number. Thats why he hung up because he knew it was bullshit numbers.

I got one where they keep calling me about an old paypal account. Ive never used paypal in my life. I looked up the company and theyre actually legit. Kinda worried. Not sure what to do though

my favourite was getting a call from microsoft support telling me theres a problem with my computer,went on for about 15 minutes of them telling me what to do before they asked me what computer i had,when i said macbook,they hung up. haven't heard from them since.

I talk like an elderly man and try to sound helpless and gullible. Then I fake fumble around a bunch and take forever to "find" my cards. I do my best to waste their time and then feed them fake card numbers and get the to think their scam is working.

Then when they think they are getting somewhere with their scam I launch into a racist or sexist tirade depending on who is calling and say the most vile and hurtful things possible.

They always hang up. Then I report their number to the national do not call list on the FTC website.

I almost never answer calls from phone numbers I do not recognize. If it's important, they will leave a message.

Do you use a service like ID Watchdog or Lifelock? If so, report it to them. They will have your back if your financial info ever becomes compromised.

An intelligent scammer would have played through more professionally instead of immediately hanging up after getting the card number. Like that wouldn't blow their cover!

Just to fuck with telemarketers heads I always say "I love you" before I hang up. One day the joke was on me though because a guy said it back. It fucked up my head the rest of the day. It's probably how they all feel when I do it to them.
