Thinking more about it now, the main reason why UFC went to WWE mode was because ppv sales were horrible between 2011-2014 which put the UFCs backs against the wall. They may not have had much of a choice but to make it wwe like in order to create fake fueds which creates interest among casual fans which are those who dictate ppv buys. Hardcore fans don't matter anymore

Prowrestling and WWE wasn't always for children. Sometime in the 2000's when they really went to push John Cena and went PG is when it became a childrens show. Cat was out of the bag about prowrestling being fake for a long while at that point. But from the 1970's up until the early 2000's it was presented as legit.
