Reason why LHW looks so lackluster..

This. You got a majority of veterans in the top 10 who have lost to the champ or eachother. The division is in serious need of some new blood. With the current top 10 situation Jones has about 3 fights left (Gustafsson, Texeira, and Davis) before rematches become the only option. Davis hasn't exactly made himself a fan favorite as of late. But the UFC LHW division is in desparate need of new blood.

Nah. The UFC will just call up some more MWs for Jones to defend against

Because Jones is the most dominant champ in UFC history. He's made amazing future HOF fighters look like they were washed up a few years earlier than they should have. All those fighters would still be jockeying at the top of the division if not for Jones with the addition of Gus and Phil.

In the end part of it has to with Jones displacing the past generation before their time. Only now are some of the members of the Jones generation are starting to emerge. Jones was just to much of early bloomer as he won a title earlier than many top fighters make their debuts.

As expected, everyone is forgetting the LHW bout that headlined the UFC of Fox Sports 1 debut, which was one of the most important cards for the UFC this year.

That fight featured a decisive first-round stoppage.

But no one wants to count that because no one wants to give Chael Sonnen credit for winning a fight at LHW.

I think the problem is that the top 10 is mostly MWs and the biggest challenges to JBJ are at HW right now. The division is empty.

GSP are just as good as Jones, but nobody said WW was a lackluster.

Yes, because Jones is the champion and you don't like it the division has become "lackluster", take Jones out and suddenly it miraculously becomes a deep weight class. Aka. Silva MW.

It's because you have mostly guys in the downside of their career (Hendo, Rashad, Shogun, Lil Nog) with only Gus and Glover as legitimate prospects. The drop
Off between the top new contenders (Gus, Glover and maybe Phil) and the rest of the division is huge. Hopefully TUF injects some new blood into the division.

Now, there is a monster in LHW who not only is skilled but makes them look incredibly small.
