Jake can win this. He's got great power too and i don't think Hendricks can take him down. It's sad that Hendicks may not get a title shot if he loses,grr..

Also expect YoungSteinel to appear in this thread shortly lol.

If he can't beat Ellenberger, then he shouldn't have fought GSP in the first place to be quite honest.

Why? It's only by losing that Johny can get a title shot. That's how it works now.

    This is dumb.

If you can't beat everyone else in the division you don't deserve a title shot? You should think before you post breh.

You shouldn't put words in my mouth, I said Ellenberger, not everyone else in the division.

    The truth, unfortunately.

Anyway, really odd match up. Could be another Hendricks split decision.

I dunno about that. Hendricks seems to be mostly a brawler these days and I think Jake is the way better striker. If Hendricks chin isn't very, very good I can definitely see Jake knocking him out.

He's already beat 3 elite top level WW's, more than anyone else in the division bar GSP.

Just because you end up losing to a fighter doesn't mean you didn't deserve your shot at the champ.

Hendricks has earned his title shot regardless of what happens in him vs Berger. Styles make fights and anything can happen in this sport, just because you lose doesn't take away your prior accomplishments.

Sorry but this is a silly statement.

    Is Ellenberger a gatekeeper? No.
Does Ellenberger have the same skillset as GSP but less potent? No.

Ellenberger has ridiculous power and elite TDD. His knock is his gastank. There is almost no similarity in Ellenberger's skillset and his gameplan to GSP's.

If Hendricks gets KOed by Ellenberger does that mean that Bigg Rigg couldn't have knocked GSP out? Think about it

For the record, I want this fight (as opposed to Johny sitting out and sulking while GSP fights Diaz). But if he loses to Ellenberger, it does NOT prove that he didn't deserve a titleshot after the Kampmann win.

what would be even worse is if rory or condit gets the next title shot once again snubbing hendricks.

I agree, I was speaking theoretically. Him losing now doesn't take away from what he did beforehand; nevertheless, Hendricks losing to Ellenberger tells me that he would of lost to GSP (most likely).

I believe both of these guys can beat GSP... Not sure sure who will win or even who I want to win.

yup... These guys are professional fighters, if you want to be the champ, you fight everyone. If he can't get through Jake, he has no business fighting GSP

Everyone in the WW division would most likely lose to GSP, that's why they're all big underdogs to him, doesn't mean they don't deserve their shot.

Also losing to an explosive brawler with massive power and decent wrestling =/= losing to a primarily excellent grappler with good kicks and jab.
