Really dumb of Moreno not to shoot TD more

He was taking Figueiredo down pretty damn easily. Didn't do much damage but you can easily steal a round spamming takedowns early and just putting your weight on someone would help him finish out Round 4 & 5 strong. But instead he just got in a slugfest with a guy who is a step faster.

This is why you have to appreciate fighters with Championship mentality like Jon Jones and Khabib who pretty much organize a fight while fighting the fight.

Spamming takedowns is easy when u play EA UFC 4.

In a real fight its not as easy.

Also take into account that he got his nuts blasted and nearly vomited just a couple of minutes before.

LOL That's what I was about to say. It's not a fucking video game man. The dude had been giving it hell, had taken hell, AND had his boys shattered by an illegal strike. Non-fighters/non-athletes have no idea the realities of competing at that level. They wouldn't even be able to breathe properly after 4 rounds

It's not so easy to time shooting for a takedown but man every time he got a hold of Figueredo he put him on the mat and Figgy has lost like that before to Jussier Formiga of all people. To be fair Fig always fights with his hands low, if you shoot a double leg on him you have to be 100% comitted and u better time that shit right or you are eating a uppercut from hell.

He was also fighting on the back foot and IMO i think Fig had the more dangerous (fight ending) grappling the first 10 min due to how explosive he is.

Oh you know like watching video on your opponent and making it a priority in your gameplan. I didn't know making an effort to "TRY" and get a takedown is like climbing Mt. Everest. You guys must shit your pants every time a takedown gets completed.

I hear ya, me too! And yeah, that HAD to be a kickass amount of adrenaline flowing thru him to not want to take more time. Prolly thought it would be better to use the remaining adrenaline he had to finish the fight after he had at least composed himself. Pretty incredible. Dude is tough as they come

Sort of like how in the Ferguson fight, DC was saying in the third round, "Tony needs to try to get up here." Commentary that profound really changed my whole perspective on the fight.
