Really bad loss for Kownacki

He looked like crap being KOed early by a C-level fighter.

It hardly gets worse than that.

Kownacki has looked pretty good at times but this showed he needs to work on a lot of things. He will probably be in a few fun fights after this but it's hard to see him achieving too much.

I pictured him getting stopped by a top ten, just not by Helenius

Brezeale could have stopped him too after watching how bad Kiwnacki looked last night

He was a KO waiting to happen. Never moves his head. Good engine but not much else.

That tubby fellow was due for loss. Glad Robert took him out.

I remember a guy trained by Kevin Rooney after his Tyson days a big talented Romanian to be his next HW champion Daniel Dancuta on his way to stardom but was stopped bad by fellow HW James Thunder viewed as a journeyman with a punch also , he never recovered and I believe retired after that , sometimes a loss is a final blow to a built up fighter, we’ll see ?

So bad it makes you rethink his whole career.

Struggling with old Arreola, struggling toe to toe with Charles Martin, etc.

His best win is old Szpilka who was fighting like a dumbass

Blocking punches with your face with eventually get you stopped, unless your Holyfield and even Riddick Bowe finally hurt him badly and dropped him.

If was obvious from the beginning that this was bound to happen. The only mystery was whether he'd last long enough to get to a title shot or not. He looked all right walking through Szpilka but then he took a beating en route to stopping Iago Kiladze & he's taken heavy shots from every opponent he's fought since. Even in the Washington fight that only went two rounds.
Kownacki might rebound against limited opposition but he's going to suffer more KO losses before his career's over & probably be reduced to journeyman status should he continue fighting that long.

How a loss to Helenius makes you look bad?
He has only 3 losses and some ex-champs on his W colomn.
If someone could explain how a C-level fighter can be currently #14 in boxrec at HW?
So any fighter outisde of top 10 is a C-level fighter then..??
I've said it the night before. It was a loss-loss scenario for Kownacki, and it's only himself to blame for the bad matchup.

hindsight being 20/20, he was a fool to turn down the $6m offered to him to fight Joshua last June.
since then, the guy he was being groomed to fight (Wilder) lost his belt, and he lost his unbeaten record.
its a long road back from here.

Him vs Dawejko would be good.
I like Joey.

Hindsight always being 20/20 and all but I suppose the writing was on the wall after that back and forth war with Arreola.

.
Because he got starched by Gerald Washington, who is absolutely a B level fighter, and thats probably generous.
Boxrec rankings don't make sense to anyone, to be fair. Fact is Helenius has lost everytime he's stepped up. He does fine beating up Finnish gatekeepers or washed up B level guys from the last decade, but has lost against the real contenders he's stepped up to fight. Beating Sam Peter and Liakovich doesn't mean a whole lot when it had been years since those guys were relevant.

B level fighter because he lost to guys he can't beat like Wilder, Jarell Miller??
I don't know much of this Washington guy, but looking at his record i don't see some bad losses. His only loss that makes him look bad is to Charles Martin, yet Martin stopped Glazkov (although by an injury) but still.. These are all the top dogs of today.

And where have you seen Helenius beating ''Finnish gatekeepers''?
I see a very wide range of victims and not one of them finnish - he beat Turkish, German, Russian, Belorussian, Georgian, UK guys.
Probably one of the most diverse resumes I know of.
Aside from that he has lost to only Dyllian White and Johan Dahaupas. It doesn't look bad to me.

It was a bad loss indeed but it isn't like he wasn't competitive with Helenius before getting dropped and then stopped. As bad as it is it could've been worse.

More like C level, his best win was 8 years ago against an already damaged goods Sam Peter, he was handpicked over Brezeale for Kownacki’s first headliner at his hometown which means he was brought in to lose

Kownacki really dropped the ball here, he got a big push by headlining a card in his hometown and didn’t even bother to make adjustments or learn anything, he fought like always does, fight like he’s behind the scorecards in the opening bell

Its a safe bet Kownacki would have lost to Brezeale and among others that night, Helenius got a break when he got the call, just don’t expect him to challenge for the title anytime soon.

Helenius actually has a pretty good record besides the fact that he lost to Duhaupas. Maybe he will have a resurgence. Either way though snow tits gets a humbling learning experience without taking too much damage so maybe he will improve from this.
