I think he'll adapt and become more patient and methodical. He'll have to pace himself but I'm sure he already knows this. We always hear that boxing is a "marathon and not a sprint" but that's only applicable to pro boxing. Amateur boxing absolutely is a sprint. He did get stopped a few years ago but has won every bout since. Twenty something in a row. He at least keeps his chin tucked and hands up. A lot of Oralbay's shots he was catching on his gloves. The Ukrainian is a workhorse but his face forward volume punching is not going to translate into the pros. He is going to get stopped, and badly. But he will be pure entertainment the entire way.
Jalolov's plan is to win his second Olympic gold medal on Saturday and then dedicate himself to the pros full-time. So, I do see him making a championship run within the next couple years. Probably even sooner than that. He's already capable of beating some of the Top 10 contenders at heavyweight right now. Maybe even the majority. Itauma looks like he might be able to as well.I dunno. I haven't really seen any upcoming stars yet--maybe I missed them--except for Jalolov but he is already a pro and I hope he makes a championship run over the next 2 years.
last few fight tonight, i see Jalolev hasnt lost a single round, how surprising a 6 year old pro is blitzing everyone in a sports that rules were changed to favour pro boxers in the same year pro boxers were allowed to compete
yawn
Yeah Jalolov is literally the reigning Olympic & World champion at super heavyweight. Pro boxers have also been allowed to compete at the Olympic Games since 2016. That was almost 10 years ago. It's not a new decision.Jalolov wins because he is an exceptional amateur and was the Gold medalist last Olympics as well. If it were that easy for pros to walk into the Olympics and win you would see the entire medal roster being dominated by seasoned pros. What better way to economically invigorate your career than to become a Golden boy? It's not that easy, that's why. Still different sports. It's laughable that some people were still thinking Manny Pacquiao could come here and body some fools.
i'm shocked, no idea how that happenedJalolov wins his second Olympic gold medal
He's 14-0 (14 KOs) as a pro but he's yet to beat anyone notable there.i'm shocked, no idea how that happened
I think it's likely that he's the heir apparent in the pros at heavyweight. It's between him and Itauma. He didn't lose a single round in any of his Olympic bouts on his way to taking his second gold medal and he's stopped every opponent he's faced in the pros to date.Won but got hit quite a few times from Spanish boxer with clean shots. He is promising due to his skills/size but for whatever reason I can't like him and feel suspect about his success as a pro. We'll see.
