I'm sorry, but this is an important topic that should be discussed.

A celebrity of such "high" status as Michael Richards openly being racist is not something that should be swept under the table in the form of a "locked thread."

If there are people that cannot post in these threads without being racist, then ban THEM, but do not ban the discussion of the topic.

This is extremely news-worthy and discussion-worthy material.

I doubt I'm the only one on Sherdog that can intelligently discuss this topic in a civilized manner.

If you have to ban people who can't, then ban them, but why is the ENTIRE topic being closed to EVERYBODY?

At the very least, just allow it in Mayberry.

Really though I didn't see the thread so I can't comment. But when I checked the War Room was supposed to be for politics and stuff, Mayberry for light-hearted discussion. This thread seems more suited for the OT.

That thread brought out the predictable replies. I deleted them before you probably saw them. Leaving a thread open that is getting problematic replies is a bad idea, especially with something as sensitive as racism. Nobody wants to sit in front of a thread hitting refresh every 30 seconds, trying to catch assholes posting.

What do you think needs to be discussed about Richards tirade? Do you want to have a pro vs. con debate? Forget it. Just forget it.

You must think we must have nothing better to do than to sit around refreshing the same thread, waiting for someone to make a racist remark in it. It's just more efficient to close the thread before people start in with the racism when you know it's a given that they will inevitably do it. Also that way it saves us the trouble of having to ban people who, without this sort of fodder, otherwise might not have said anything to get themselves banned.

Those threads are already enough hassle as it is anyway - I must have closed/deleted at least 8 duplicate threads on the subject and it sounds like fogie did the same.
