However I thought RDA was trying to make one last good run at the 155 belt. He's 37 years old and time is very precious now, if he moves back up to 170 for his next fight it will make a title run at 155 that much less likely. Would be a good money fight for him at the end of his career though.

A win over Masvidal does well for his stock. If he wins and drops back to 155 he is getting a top 3 or 4 guy.

Better option than Islam, everyone else is booked, & he knows Conor won't fight him. I think he would much rather fight Mas than some up and comer like Fiziev.

The BMF thing was a gimmick used to sell a PPV headlined by a non-title fight main event between two guys with similar upbringings. The number of fighters and Sherdoggers who are too dense to see this is honestly sad.

There isn't a designated paycheck that came with it. No guaranteed $500k base, no guaranteed PPV points, no guaranteed anything. In case you don't remember, Masvidal gave up a title shot to Burns after Nate because he wanted said $500k base for the Usman fight instead of the $400k (which he made from the BMF fight) that the UFC wanted to pay him again. He only got it after he was needed last minute. Jorge began making money afterwards not because he had that belt, but because the first Usman PPV did 1.3 million buys.

It was a one fight gimmick based on the personalities of the two fighters going for it. All of it started when Nate got on the microphone after beating Pettis and said that Jorge was no West Coast gangster. There wasn't a stipulation that the winner had to give it up to the next guy who beats him. That's what normal title belts are for.
