RDA Hype-train

Hype?

He took out bendo with strikes
shut down and punished Nate
Beat down Pettis
Ripped throught Cerrone

If it's hype it is justified just as much as the hype conor has gotten.
Conor ko'd the best featherweight and arguably one of the top 5 P4P fighters in MMA history and made it look easy. RDA has done nothing of the sort. Bendo is overrated, he would never hold a title in the UFC again, THAT is why he went to Bellator. Nate will never hold a title, complete middle of the road fighter. Pettis is equally overrated as Bendo. Guida has beaten both RDA and Pettis... Cerrone crumbles under pressure in big fights. Always has. Conor beat not only Aldo, but Mendes a guy who had only lost in championship fights against Aldo until that point.

RDA isn't on a hypetrain. He's a real champ.
th

RDAs fight with Cowboy was .....looked like Cowboy choked again.

He did beat Pettis but Pettis just lost again.

I don't think RDA is as much of a badass he's made out to be. If he can't get it to the mat and keep it there he's getting KO'd

Either trolling or taking hits from a tainted peace pipe.

Never thought I'd hear the words "Hypetrain" and RDA in the same sentence. They gave him the toughest road possible. You think the UFC likes RDA as champ? They don't but he has the belt anyway cuz RDA is a CERTIFIED BEAST.

Finishing Cerrone, Benson Henderson and dominating Pettis for 25 minutes is not hype... is being a fucking killer.

Finish on Henderson always seemed early to me. Cerrone has never impressed. He broke very easily against Nate Diaz. Pettis has never handled being pressured very well.

I've been hearing a lot of talk from RDA fans regarding his fight with Mcgregor and it has me scratching my head. Many say that RDA will ko Conor in the first or submit him in the first. What are they basing these predictions on? RDA barely has a finishing rate over 50% for his career with only 4 TOTAL ko/tko's in the UFC and only two submission victories in the UFC against less than stellar competition (Seriously 6 finishes in 19 UFC fights). The numbers don't lie, Conor has a 94% finishing rate for his career, 85% finishing rate in the UFC(18 ko/tko, 1 sub) against better competition in his last two fights.

He has phenomenal ground skills, very effective wrestling, dangerous stand-up, speed, power, and cardio.

The guys that are going to give him issues are fighters that are are just unparalleled in one area of the fight and have the ability to keep it there.
Khabib was able to turn their fight into a wrestling match and was able to do so enough to win.
Connor may be able to win if he can keep it as a boxing match. That will be very difficult especially if RDA gets and early take down and does anything with it. The threat of the take down will really open Connor up to the power strikes of RDA and could

I'd give the specialists of the division, Khabib, or even someone like Barboza a much better chance of winning than someone well rounded and higher ranked like Alverez.

The hype is Conor. Saying RDA is hype means you don't follow the sport that closely. nOOb

My guess 3 of those 4 tko/tko's in his last 5 fights . Also his last 4 wins Henderson , Diaz, Pettis and Cerrone all elite fighters . Out of those four fights, two by stoppage and two by one sided beat down .

His title win against Pettis came against a guy who was expected to be the next dominant champion , and take over as the sports next pound for pound number one after the demise of Anderson Silva .(?) With a Wheatie box appearance it seemed Pettis might be the sports next ' Cross over ' star , RDA beat him down and took his belt.

Just my ten penneth , i can see the reason for hype and his fans absolute confidence . I would add i think McGregor wins by TKO.

13 decisions in 19 UFC fights for RDA, doesn't seem he's improving that much, at least in regards to his finishing rate. RDA has never beaten an Aldo level fighter and likely never will.
I would respectfully disagree. Pettis and Bendo aren't on an Aldo level? Not to mention Diaz and Cerrone in that stretch too. Agreed that those two aren't on that elite level, but it's a nice run that, IMO, deserves something better than "hype train".

Earlier in his career Conor was getting tapped by guys you've never heard of. Some fighters turn a corner.

RDA absolutely smashed Ben Henderson and Donald Cerrone in round 1. That is the RDA of recent years.

Both Conor and RDA have looked spectacular finishing tough guys.

Styles make fights come fight night it doesnt matter who either man has beaten mma math ddoesn't mean shit who ever is on their best game that night will walk away victorious because they had the best ppreperation. Don'tget so offended when people pick against your ffavorite fighter these things sometimes happen in MMA

Calling the Lightweight champion a Hype-Train, y'all bitches ain't even trying anymore.

The truth is both guys are very dangerous fighters and anything can happen. TS, I think people are basing their opinions on RDA's current track record. Damn what he did in the past.
