This fits perfectly in the timeline (they both just fought) AND makes sense in the rankings.

Gaethje gets to redeem himself against a former champ who just beat a top 10 guy and RDA gets a step up in competition in the last title challenger.

I say book it for March, or April at max if RDA needs some more time to rest.

In the meantime we can have Dustin/Conor and Chandler/Tony. Hooker/Do Bronx wouldn't be bad either.

What do you say down for RDA/Gaethje ?

PS: @Ackmed please don't say RDA should fight makachev, after his withdrawal makachev should fight someone like Dariush or Dober at least tl get access to RDA again

RDA won against Felder who didn't train in an octagon for 4 months. he couldn't finish him or do any damage.
    RDA doesn't deserve a top 5 guy.

Felder has never been finished, his one KO loss was a doctor stoppage. And I question if you are blind when you say he didn’t do any damage.

RDA/Dariush is the fight to make IMO.

If not that, RDA/Oliveira for me. Oliveira deserves higher than RDA but I don't think they'll give him it.

He has never been finished with a full training camp.
Felder has never fought on 5 days notice without training in the octagon for 4 months.
It was not convincing what RDA did.
He himself was not happy with the fight.

He has never fought a guy on RDA’s level. I don’t understand the hype around BJJ if a guy on RDA’s level can be in mount with 40 seconds left vs Felder who hadn’t trained grappling in 4 months and not do jack

No waste of a busting fight and I’m an rda fan. Justin Dustin 2 for the title is the fight to make. Tony chuck for a contender fight both are guaranteed great fights.

Seems like Felder is pretty tough to finish, even on four days notice.

Also, how can you just ignore that RDA too took the fight on four days notice? Sure he had a clear advantage due to having an actual camp but stylistically it was a completely different fight than what he was preparing for.

I took that into consideration. Yes it has something to do with Felders toughness.
But it also has to do with the level of RDA in that fight which you seem to rule out as an option.
Both are true. i think Felder is tough to knock out or submit and I also think RDA should have done better in these circumstances.

JG will brutalize RDA at this point imo. Prime RDA would have been a different story.

I don't like Gaethje and don't imagine that fight going well for RDA. RDA isn't what he used to be, idk maybe he could take Gaethje down though. Gaethje vs Felder interests me, I know Felder lost but he still looked pretty good at distance and took it on 5 days notice. Also that fight would be straigh fireworks.
