"The Godfather of Mexican Drug Trafficking" has given an exclusive interview to Proceso, a Mexican magazine. Rafael Caro Quintero (RCQ) is better known for his alleged involvement in the 1985 murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena.

In the interview below, RCQ states that legalizing drugs is not the answer.

Although it's difficult to believe anything a convicted drug trafficker says, the topic of legalizing drugs boils down to opinion. The fact that someone of his stature within Mexico's narco culture opines as such carries some weight.

RCQ comments on the subject @ 42:40. He states that if marijuana is legalized, something stronger will take it's place because consumers will not cease to exist. Additionally, he states that as a result of legalizing it, you'll simply see homes where parents and their children smoke together. RCQ bottom-lines it stating that education is the answer. It's difficult to disagree with this, as proper education will better prepare future generations to avoid drug use in Mexico, and in the U.S. (or any country for that matter).
